On Saturday, we started with two wingers, McClean and McManaman, but no forwards. We finished with two wingers and two forwards. At least, we would have if McClean hadn’t been sent off.
Last night, we started with a centre forward and a different winger (Beausejour). Coyle then took off the centre forward, brought on a different type of forward, Fortune, and reverted to the two wingers McClean and McManaman.
Perhaps Gomez is as puzzled as I am.

I simply don’t understand our tactics.
I’ve no idea what instructions Coyle gives to the players.
On the touchline, all he seems to say is Try harder!
Reminds me of when Jimmy Bullard used to do the same – often with the same effect.
Although I do remember being at SJP and him lining up a free kick on the edge of the box and me saying “Why does he have to take all…..GOAL!!!!”

If I remember rightly you weren’t the only one thinking that. Didn’t he have a bust up with one of his team mates prior to scoring about who was going to take it?
