20 August 2009 at 4:12 pm #5813If you really want to you can keep talking out your arse….anyone is fit to lace Kirklands boots…He really isnt a good keeper what-so-everTo say that Pollitt is better than Kirkland I think it is you who is talking out of his arse. We rescued him from Rotherham were he was a below average 2nd or 3rd division keeper that was a good few years ago and he’s not got better with age.
Kirkland may not be perfect but if he is only half fit, which he is most of the time he’s still better by a country mile than a fully fit Pollitt
20 August 2009 at 11:08 pm #5853In that case then shouldn’t we be bdding for another keeper. Kingson hasn’t done much except that cup match where he made a superb save but nowt much since then.
21 August 2009 at 12:53 am #5868To me Kirkland is a cracking keeper but….apart from his injury record his kicking is crap. Somebody should get a video of Reina to see how he angles his body to kick flat with distance and not the sky bombs that Kirky puts up.
21 August 2009 at 1:34 am #5873Kirky is world class at reactionary saves, but he struggles when he has to think about stuff (a bit like Titus used to be), doesn’t stand up to shots (how many goals have gone in when he’s leant backwards and it’s sailed over where his head would’ve been) and is made of glass.
At least when Brucie was here he got Kirky to start doing quick throws and kicks, unlike before when he’d pretend to and then hug the ball for 30s, so I’m pleased he’s still doing that.
Pollitt for me woud still be my no1 choice though – tough as boots that mon. Our longest serving player aswell int he?

28 August 2009 at 2:22 am #7087Pollitt …last night…shocking. Kirky all is forgiven.
29 August 2009 at 5:09 pm #7277Pollitt …last night…shocking. Kirky all is forgiven.Kirkland is most certainly the best keeper at the club, but whether he is Premiership class is another matter. He looks and plays like he has a brush steel up his back; a back so fragile he cannot train properly. I just don’t see how a goalkeeper can possibly compete at this level with such an injury. A pity because he had the potential to be up there with the best.
29 August 2009 at 7:16 pm #7284Here you are, just what youve been waiting for, a positive post.
One thing alone says how good Kirkland is, our fans chanting Englands No.1. The constant questions as to why he isnt in the England squad. Some of our players are simply not good enough, but for me Chris Kirkland is fantastic.

Kirky is class; anybody who says otherwise is being foolish.
30 August 2009 at 5:15 am #7317He told Capello to leave him out..He wouldnt have been in regardless….As he is not good enough… he is below 3rd choice! You cannot disagree

You cannot disagreeSorry mate but he is the one real quality player we have at the club. He should be in the England squad as I rate him more highly than Foster and James. If not for his injuries he would still be at Liverpool and would be Englands number one no arguement.
