So it looks like only one team from Wigan will be on national TV this weekend then?
*puts on tin hat and runs off before missiles are thrown*
17 April 2014 at 7:13 pm #129967I think they may be annoyed that we are not reaping in as much telly money as the “bigger” clubs…………and they may have a point. :angry:Given the complete lack of understanding of football finances displayed by many on here on a regular basis, I doubt that has even entered their heads.
17 April 2014 at 8:33 pm #129968Burnley v Blackpool, are you sure taht this is a bigger draw? :ohmy:2 big old “sleeping giants” of the game going head to head in a “Lancashire hot pot derby” One who could seal automatic promotion if they win (& later results go their way) & the other who could wind up in the drop zone if they lose (& later results go against them) in a stadium that in all likelihood will be sold out & even it isn’t fully sold out will have nowhere near as many Burnley fans in it as would have wanted tickets
Up against a game involving Latics & Reading which will seal neither club’s place in the play offs, nor see em written out of it in a stadium (admittedly far bigger than Blackpool’s) which could easily contain everyone interested in watching it & still have seats to spare
Yeah, as unpleasant as it may be for a Latics fan, I would say that it would be a far bigger draw for Sky to show Blackpool v Burnley than Latics v Reading
17 April 2014 at 9:32 pm #129969Well we’ve been ignored yet again by SKY.
Tomorrow they are showing Burnley – Blackpool
Saturday Leicester – QPR
Monday Leeds (for the 50th time this season) – Forest.I’d argue our games against Reading and Burnley have more at stake given Leicester and Burnley are already promoted and Leeds and Forest have no chance anyway.
Really pisses me off – we’ve been on Sky twice this season.
Why? If you go to the game, why are you even arsed if it’s on the tele or not?[/quote]
Yes I’ll be there tomorrow but I won’t be at Turf Moor.
My point is that they still favour the perceived big clubs Leeds being a prime example even though they’ve been shite for years they’ve been on Sky loads of times.
We’ve been ignored and it’s not fair is it?
That’s why I’m arsed!! :)

Who cares?
20 April 2014 at 1:35 pm #130064Who the eff cares whether we have been on telly or not????
Certainly not been missed by me because we have enjoyed our football in the main at the traditional Saturday 3pm kick off times and not had to endure stupid kick off times at stupid times either!
Another important point is that it has kept us firmly off the radar and allowed us to quietly move into the play off positions without any fuss and with the most momentum and I think we will be a match for any of the teams we may face in them.
We will have all the TV nonsense back next season when we return to the so called promised land via the play offs . -
