Enjoy the day, but show disapproval at any numpties. Let’s see us lift the trophy.
5 May 2018 at 12:37 pm #168861I hope it’s not going to be a long drawn out affair, we need to get back to catch a train! Ha ha ha
5 May 2018 at 1:08 pm #168862Pretty sure the Donny stewards will be on the ball today, I’d expect a quick trophy celebration if we win, Donny wont put up with all that bollocks we had 2 seasons back.
6 May 2018 at 2:42 am #168877Stuff went on today that has totally disgusted me.
We have some right idiots and brainless dickheads following us away. Not just kids, some in their mid to late 40s and older. I spent 90 mins stopping my two boys getting crushed, by inconsiderate dicks. People just randomly standing at the front. I moved 3 or 4, but it got ridiculous. We went today to see us get the trophy. Kids have said they don’t want to go again.
Well done. Pricks. I’m having a word to the club about stuff that went on today. We are Wigan, but some seem to think we are Millwall. Fuming. Our day was ruined.
6 May 2018 at 3:04 am #168878VAT, had a similar rant myself on Facebook, Not prevented in any way by stewards with the organisational ability of a chimp and movement of a fridge, but today we’ve seen inconsiderate pricks standing at front (not blocking my view as a disabled fan), but must have been blocking views of those in first few rows, who remained in their seats.
Same at the end, (quite rightly booed by our decent fans), but loads going on pitch, blocking views of loads of fans (including disabled fans) of the celebrations following the presentation….including 2 shameful dickheads (one in a Red “Flores” shirt, who had a go at me cos I told him to “get off the f…ing pitch” and another (not sure what he was wearing, but YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) who when asked (in non-abusive manner) to move as someone (not me) couldn’t see as they were in a wheelchair replied “so what?”…One of Our Own, well they may be, but along with a few others today showed themselves to be nothing more than GRADE A (insert sweary word).
Felt sorry for the proper fans today who know how to celebrate success.
6 May 2018 at 3:39 am #168879Get a life! FFS some blokes got a bit carried away. Was harmless fun. Was Grigg out of order jumping in our end then along with players? Could have caused a riot!
If it offends find another sport because some lads let their emotions get the better of them. Just looked on twitter fans on pitch at bloody bamber bridge. Some complain everytime they go away. Next time listen on radio.
6 May 2018 at 4:15 am #168880Unfortunately I wasn’t there today but glued to Fotmob on the mobile and pacing around on the caravan decking for hours.
Went away recently to Rochdale and 99% of us stood all the way through the game so I wouldn’t have expected anything different today considering the importance of the match.
Vat I don’t know what you were expecting and I understand what you should expect from a match in a civilized society but really in the real world it’s football and a million miles from normality. You complained like mad about the behaviour of some fans at Fylde so what were you expecting at such a massive match and with Four times the fans from Latics in attendance?6 May 2018 at 4:20 am #168881Knobs

But what about the pitch invasion.
You’re not the type parent to go onto the pitch and encourage your kids to do the same are you?
6 May 2018 at 1:13 pm #168885By the end of the game, when the presentation was going to happen, we had no choice other than to get onto the pitch perimeter with the kids, FOR THEIR SAFETY. Otherwise, they wouldve been crushed against the boards. Some dwarf of a bloke, Latics fan, didn’t like me doing this and started muttering. Told him to get lost. Loads massing behind us, obviously to go into pitch, so I did what I thought was best for my kids.
Kids safety is the paramount importance.

Fuck off pal, my kids lives are more important than any bollocks you spout. Tit. Absolute wanker of a reply, that. Your a disgrace. Course it ‘offends’ me when grown men show no regard whatsoever for the safety of kids. Kids are the future of this club, not old pissheads and those who have gone this season because we’ve been decent. They’ll still be going when that lot are long gone.
6 May 2018 at 1:38 pm #168889Safety of kids? Lad next to me had four kids there. Two 5 year olds, a ten year old and an eleven year old. All went on pitch, had a sing and dance, shook players hands, had there pictures taken with Whelan and I couldn’t see this imminent danger of being crushed.
Everytime a club wins a trophy there’s a pitch invasion. Why are you so disgusted? You leave disappointed everytime you go away that these ‘nobheads’ ruin your kids day. You vowed at Fylde never to go again away due to your kids safety. Definition of insanity: Doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Next time. Save your sanity. Stay at home. You’ll only be disappointed!
6 May 2018 at 1:39 pm #168890Folk on the front row should be forced to sit down, if needs be by stewards armed with water guns that soak them every time they stand up without a need to. Every time the selfish feckers stand up, they cause a ripple effect that spoils the view of those sat behind. Youngsters and the infirm cant stand and see all day. I pay my £25+ to see a game of football, not some fat bloke’s or spotty yoof’s arse.
I’ve had it out with these selfish types before who were persistently standing on the front row at Craven Cottage when my wife & I were in row 2 – told them to either sit down or if they want to block our view of the game then fucking entertain us to the value of our ticket. I must have looked angry enough, because they sat down!

You complained like mad about the behaviour of some fans at Fylde so what were you expecting at such a massive match and with Four times the fans from Latics in attendance?People pay for a seat….So fucking well SIT in the bugger. That’s what I expect. No excuses. No wandering to the front and 20 yards to the left to randomly ruin other people’s view. Just fucking ignorant that. Everyone had a ticket with a seat number on….so just SIT in it. Not a confusing phenomenon, really. Everyone wouldve had a decent view, no issues. There’s this invention, you see, called all seater stadiums. There’s a reason they brought them in, in the first place.
And yes, I’m totally AGAINST bringing standing back into football. If they do, people will abuse it, then a couple of years down the line, someone will say “oh we need fences up to stop pitch invasions”…and we will be back to pre Hillsborough type grounds. No thanks. We’ve moved on As a game. It’s a myth that all seater detract atmosphere, proven yesterday. People can still shout and sing, even if they’re sat down.
I’ve said what I’m saying on it now. But yesterday was a challenge. Basically caused by people being fucking ignorant, selfish and not sitting where they should be. Doncaster stewards were useless, not actually Latics fault, I’ve never said that. Kids were terrified when we scored, surely nobody can think that’s right? The flares landing around us were another issue all together. Just stick to home games now, sat in our premier seating.
Hopefully Championship stewards will be more thorough and not let such things happen.
6 May 2018 at 1:43 pm #168892Both vat and Abram have illustrated why stadiums should remain all seaters. When fans stand en masse there is always the likelihood that a surge could cause crushing and if you are at the game with kids then a serious issue could arise. I don’t know how we stop pitch invasions but it isn’t just a Latics problem it happens everywhere.
