Zero lessons learned from previous 2 Bolton games. Never laid a glove on them.
Get rid now before we sleepwalk into League 2
17 January 2026 at 4:20 pm #206685Zero everything – idea, game plan, players with heart, players with passion, tactics, creativity, goalscoring threats, soon be many fans going zero more games this season, absolute garbage, no idea, no leader, but of course not the fault of the manager, sorry but we need a new manager, new ideas, as this guy has no clue and neither do the players, what will it take for danson to see its just not working ..
17 January 2026 at 6:21 pm #206686Shite. Players are shite and manager is shite.
Cup match is a distraction we don’t need. Players will end up slipping up in league games and we will end up in a relegation fight we won’t get out of.
Owner and board are tight wad clowns as well. We keep bringing in utter shite loans and freebies. Bringing players in from fellow Lg1 clubs…if they were any good, they’d be playing for those clubs! Whilst Lowe is not blameless, he is trying to paint a portrait with Crayons. If we dont spend a bit of money this window, its time to give up.
Will I go the next home game? Not unless the owners show a bit of ambition. Its critical now. This cup match is a distraction we can do without as well. We need league wins and I think if the players get too caught up in the cup, we could slip up in crucial league games. We can’t afford to. And this squad has no fight. Most will be jumping ship come summer.
17 January 2026 at 6:26 pm #206687Wish he would use those crayons to cross out his current tactics. Our defenders are just that….defenders. Play 4 at the back and stop trying to get Aimson, Carragher and Fox involved in the build up play
17 January 2026 at 8:59 pm #206688No fist pumping today after that woeful display , beyond bad , not one shot on target ffs!!!!
Have seen some bad performances over the years from Latics teams but very few as bad as that and it’s now only one point about the relegation places and some very tough games coming up.The bottom 4 beckons and league 2 is a real possibility , running towards it rather than sleepwalking.-

Fully agree. Aimson is a back 4 centreback. He is not Carlos Alberto. Seeing him trying to beat someone on the wing…christ its like seeing Gemma Collins climbing out of a swimming pool. Its just…a mess. He is a stopper. Stop and give the ball to someone like Smith or Wright…although the midfield IS shite as well.
Lowe should be potted this week. Should be, but likely won’t.
17 January 2026 at 10:07 pm #206691Came out seething…..gutless, spineless, rudderless display. Again same shit….wingbacks means relegation and this knob won’t budge. Players being thrown under the bus….Raphael, Hungbo can’t f###### defend ..period!!!…Aimson a disaster….No midfield whatsoever…..Not one player gets stuck in….Smith playing deeper than Tickle. Worst soft arsed midfield I can remember. Created nothing . Blackpool, Bradford, Barnsley, Cardiff, Bolton……no lessons learned…..dire in everyone of those games. Still he persists with this system…….Stubborn T### or just incompetent????…Wyke,MC clean,Keane,Lang,Humphreys.etc…knew what this game meant……fire,passion,belief…..that today was a reflection of where this club presently stands…..washed out!!!….2 players out and 1 in…..”doing our business early” ….F### off……..Owner won’t cough up ….Mullen and Cooper sent back to free up 2 wages……..remember sustainability is the buzz word. See how that works come July when league 2 season tickets on sale. Arsenal scouts notepad would have been blank at 4:45………Something needs to change now…..Lowe wont!!….So Danson has the call. 6000 crowds on the horizon otherwise!!!
18 January 2026 at 9:39 am #206692Having slept on it…
Either the club makes a change, or I’m done.
Huddersfield are miles higher and potted their manager last night. Whilst we are dozing our way to League 2, and will end up picking up the pieces with hardly any of these players as they will mostly jump ship. We will end up with a new team…again…in League 2. Players like Bettoni and Leo Graham facing the rebuild. Although a higher club would likely take a punt on Bettoni and buy him for a twix and a bag of pork scratchings.
The fact that Lowe said about our chances created yesterday has done it for me. We created shite all and never tested their new, raw keeper at all. Ive seen some shite performances over my 40 years, but this was utter gutless. It was worse than at their place because that day they really were decent. Yesterday they were there for the taking, but we were gutless. If we were an Italian club in serie A, our ultras would be at the training ground tomorrow demanding answers, changes and at the very least, a response. But we are shitty little Wigan and will just quietly sink to League 2 with a squad of half arsed players who are on loan or running contracts down. They aren’t arsed.
Thats it now as far as I’m concerned. Mind is made up.

18 January 2026 at 11:08 am #206695Absolutely understand your feelings. Your not alone. Out after game and everyone I spoke to want him gone …..quite a few want Rioch potted too. Im not sure about that. When Lowe arrived he obviously told Rioch the system he wanted to play which then meant the offload of Mellish,Smith, D’Arcy. Rioch then has a duty to help him recruit the type of players he needs to suit his system. Surely though now it’s obvious that he will continue to play this dead duck way so any more recruitment needs serious questions asked by Rioch. He will just waste the 10 bob resources we have on more players who fail. He has to go for me……can’t see that happening, so the 2nd half of this season will be torture. I too will be reviewing the 3 season tickets, 3 future funds come May…….I state this with a heavy heart.
18 January 2026 at 12:28 pm #206696That game was clearly lost in the middle of the park. Once that midfield was lost it was all about dropping back in.
Matt Smith stunk the place out. This guy needed to get a foothold on the ball but instead he was back peddling for most of the game totally uninvolved. I’d comfortably say it was his worse performance in a Wigan shirt.
There’s no way he should have been still on that park till the 87th minute he was truly pathetic and to top it off his header out lead to the goal.
Possession 32%
Shots on target 0
Corners 1
Crosses 2
For me Hungbo and Raphael are not confident in playing a wing back roll and were caught out numerous times which in turn means Weir and Smith were constantly having to drop back in.
This just added pressure and it built up all the way through the 2nd half.
We’d be much better off
Flat back 4 Robinson in
2 wide
3 mid (one attacking)
One up front.
Lowe for me put everything into that Preston game purely for a one-upmanship on his old club and Bolton was an after thought and it showed.
He got out gunned and out thought for the full 90. One more thing, was Asamoah injured ?, because if he wasn’t and he was simply dropped for Taylor Lowe wants his arse kicking. Against Preston Asamoah’s pace alone put the fear of God into them.
A loss against Doncaster will put us a point off the drop zone and only then will the harse reality hit home that L2 beckons unless Lowe gets it right asap and stop pissing around with 3 at the back.
I’ve had enough of this defend first attack if possible but not essential tactics like the Bolton and Cardiff games.
We were comprehensively beaten by a side who’d won 2 in 7, drawn with Doncaster and lost to Port Vale, which showed they were clearly out of form.
Lowe out?, Preston fans warned us when he took over, I simply thought sour grapes but it’s not looking like that now.
He seems void of tactics and his post match interviews ? I have to check the date of the videos because they don’t seem to be about the game I watched.

18 January 2026 at 1:57 pm #206699Others have done the detail, so I won’t repeat it.
The biggest home game of the season and zero shots on target.
Not good enough, no excuses.
Time for a change of manager. Lowe out.
19 January 2026 at 3:07 pm #206707Too enrage me even more he now states Asamoah was omitted to make way for Taylor. After his sub performance at Preston what a kick in the danglers for the lad. Why not leave Macmanaman or even Saydee out. Certainly knows how to disenfranchise players.
19 January 2026 at 7:30 pm #206708Well if he left Asamoah for Taylor he’s a bellend. I don’t even think Taylor would have been bothered not to be thrown in just after signing.
When Asamoah got the pen at Preston you could see what it meant to him the way he celebrated.
Then I’m thinking we have that holding mid problem or defender and Mellish is on loan.
Now people might go “he’s not good enough” I would have agreed when he first arrived but he grew into the job and was never scared to bomb forward and to be honest, he’s as good as anything we’ve got at the moment. He’s a regular in a side that would us comfortabley right now.
But dropping Asamoah will have crushed that lads emotions. To come on against a side in 3th in the Championship and tear them apart then to be repaid by being dropped in our derby
Lowe got that one wrong, seriously wrong. Time to go before L2 beckons

19 January 2026 at 9:11 pm #206710Staggering. Get him f***ing sacked. Now!
Thats appalling. His man management is appalling. Arrogant scouser. Can’t believe that about Asamoah. Unbelievable.
