Looking at some of the posts (mainly on FB) from people saying “what’s going on – I’ve had enough – I’m not going again – can I have a refund on my season ticket because this isn’t what I paid for”, I thought I’d try this quick one-off poll.

Very simply, are you now ready to admit you were a JCL who only wanted the good times, and now that things are getting a bit ropey, even to the point of a possible (but hopefully not probable) further relegation you want out? Or are you in for the full course of where fate takes us (and you can of course even be someone who only started a year or so back)supporting the club and the team (with the odd moan as a given)?

    :)

Not me, I got fed up when we were at the peak in 2009 when it became clear that the chairman was just in it for the money and not success, simply selling players for major profit and signing mediocre just to about stay in the league. Under Bruce we had a real chance of progression and had a fantastic team but he decimated it. I started going in 93′ when i was just about old enough to go on my own and watched the rise home and away. I was a JCL then but i was a grown man when i decided i had had enough. Money has crucified football. Time to pack it in.

How many facts need to be shown to you regards DW before you stop banging that drum?

We finished mid table in Division 3 in my first season back in 94. Finishing anywhere in the top two divisions is an incredible rise and I’m glad I got to see it. I’m more glad that even if we do go down I will still have a football club to support for years to come. Back in 94 that was a bigger dream than being in the top divisions.

Been going since 1979 so I think I will carry on with my favourite hobby regardless ,what is going on at the moment is right for the football club.
Jackson has been honest and straight and he would be my choice as chairman should whelan step away a bit.
At least the club are thinking ahead,Dull city and QPR, Burnley et al could well be in the same position next year, at least we had a go and chased the dream after relegation, now it’s time to check the bank statements and cancel what we don’t need.
best decision the board have made this season,if the remains JCLS don’t like it then they may as well f@@k off!!!!!

I’ve been around since 1968, through thick and thin, TBF more thin than thick, but I’ve stuck at it, which hopefully deems me not a JCLs. I suppose i will be around until I kick the bucket and then will be seen hovering above the DW, are whatever it will be called when the Arabs take over in 20 20.

I only go for the little un now to be honest, I couldn’t live with him supporting anybody else. As for me I’ve seen everything I ever wanted to see following this club and never thought any of the recent stuff possible beyond my wildest dreams.

Makes it all the more galling to take this fire sale and the slagging off of the players that got me past the wildest dreams into reality.

Reminds me a bit of that second season in the Prem when we really could have kicked on but the £ signs in Whelan’s eyes lit up and he put matchday prices up by huge amounts, with no regard for the supporters. Lost a few quid and a good few supporters that year through greed. He’ll lose more supporters now, whether they be JCL’s or otherwise.

A poll on here won’t show up who used to support another club and is now ‘a Latic through and through’banging the ‘Loyalty’ drum. I know plenty who don’t go so much now but used to go with me week in week out in the 80’s. In the main they can’t be arsed with how football has gone and Latics’ January antics fall into that category.

Latics’ January antics = preserving the club’s future.

With every post you talk more and more shite. Fair play though, you at least went one post without having a pop at Mackay

Pretty sure that some of our fans want us to p*ss the money we have up the wall and end up like Portsmouth or Leeds.

Saying that, they’ll then be moaning that we should have balanced the books better.

So who’s the one miserable sod that’s had enough then?

For many people the game is only part of the match day experience and, as I have said before, if it’s guaranteed enjoyment and entertainment you’re looking for then football isn’t for you.

More thin than thick!! are you sure 65 mon?. In your time as a Latics fan you have seen

                The rise from Cheshire league
                Umpteen various non-league trophys
                9 Wembley visits
                1 Millenium visit
                2 Football league titles
                2 Football league trophy wins
1 League Cup Final runners up
                6 European games
and of course 1 FA Cup final win

and the most important one of the lot 1 Isle of Man trophy win

only 2 relegations in the clubs history.

No other fans have seen as much as we have and we are really feeling it because we have only ever really seen success.

For a club the size and location of Wigan to me that seems to be a whole lot of thick and not much thin.

For those who want to jump ship then that’s fine by me but im gonna hang around for the next inevitable rise of the Phoenix.

I can remember about 10 years up till Whelan taking over which were as bleak as it gets supporting a football club, without actually going bust. Anyone starting supporting after that will have only ever seen the good times, mixed with some stability and plenty will be doing the Wigan walk now.

It will become easier to stay in the pub or house this winter than wander down the Latics, that’s for sure, even for some of those Loyal voters. Grown men doing a loyalty test :silly:

I would like to ask a question.

Why is everyone who is anti-Malkay, anti-Mr Whelan and general down-in-the-dumps gloom merchants calling whats going on a Fire Sale?

It is nothing of the sort, indeed I consider it very good business for the club and the players.

Oh dear, playing the “Goole Away” card, are we? How much did you throw in Stan’s bucket then, Superfan?

I am confused though; I think you said in earlier post that you only go now because of your son. For someone who claims not care that much, you don’t half do some moaning

Why is it people who haven’t been around as long as others, feel the need to have a pop when a bloke reminisces?
It’s like me having a go at a JCL but they saw the light eventually. Just don’t see the need for a loyalty poll and folk voting who used to support somebody else. It’s a little bit contradictory imo.
