I think Jewell’s got too much pride to return as a number 2.

And then, if Jewell was basically running the show, what would be the point of Martinez?

May as well have him greeting corporate guests and having photo’s with them at their tables in the executive lounge’s.

How about Paul Hart as Bob’s number 2?

no what i mean vat is ,when you watch bob are listen to him speak he doesnt come across as someone who can b o l l o c k the players and put fire in there bellys we all know jones and barrow as the hard man but you never see them on the touchline barking instructions and rail roading anybody.Bob would be incharge but jewell tells it as it his,and would install some fear into the team.An example, camara came with a bad rep was subbed one game stormed off up tunnel pj went after him he didnt storm off up the tunnel again and i think thats what we need

“The underlining problem with Martinez is his selection.

When will he realise that Scotland is a big of whale? He was awful again today, he will NEVER score in the Prem. He should be on the bench at a push.”

Who else does he choose Duke? Kapo? :?

The underlying problem is Whelan plain and simple. I’ll bet he promised RM shitloads of transfer funds to get him to come here and what has he given him? Bugger all.

It was always going to be a tough game today Brum have hit a run of form and apparently their chairman has promised 40 mill available in January….if we spend a tenth of that I’ll be amazed.

I saw our players arguing amongest themselves today most notably Scharner and Thomas…nobody stepped in to sort them out. We used to say as kids get the other team arguing and you will win……As much as I have praised Melchiots footballing ability he just doesn’t have the presence needed to grab the team and pull them together in tough times.

Not enough competition in many positions is also a big problem for us. Who out of our usual starting 11 feels they have anyone pushing for their place?

Roberto cannot be judged in this league until he has had some financial backing…..you all know that isn’t going to happen.

Sjoke up next….how fooking annoying is it that despite our time and experience in this league they are higher than us and we are going there not really expecting much from the game…

As for the support today…..it was shocking. 70 mins and the grounds emptying….for the lot who stormed off out, your team were struggling and needed your help, and even up to the last minute a draw was never out of the question and you walked….

Scharner looked amazingly p’d off, throughout the game.

Several times he was waiting on the back post for a cross which never came.

Give it a few weeks, he’ll be touting for a move.

And you know what? I don’t blame him. We’ve only got 2 really good players and they are Scharner and N’Zogbia. Perhaps Rodallega, as well. The rest are not up to it.

Scharner show’s passion, effort, he’s up and down the pitch, and shoujld definitely be captain, whether he wants away or not. Melchiot is absolutely poor. (Don’t care whether he’s a nice bloke or not. He’s past it)

I dont care how long you’ve been watching latics, how many away games you’ve fu cking been to years ago or how good a singer you are; quite simply you are waiting for us to fail to come on here spouting off drivel.

Paul Hart? Paul Jewell? Neil Warnock? I’m surprised you’ve not written to Whelan yourself offering your servcies as manager.

He should have brought in another striker in the summer. Or play that really good striker we have know as Hugo Rodallega, rather than stick him out on the wing were he is ineffectual.

P.S Is it just me that remembers de Ridder’s really good performance on the last day of last season vs pompey?

Do you mean the Summer when Roberto only came on board really late due to Whelans fanny farting about trying to steal him from Swansea on the cheap instead of giving them a decent offer? Thus giving him no time to settle in and look at good transfers for us? (remember).

FFS don’t even go there with De Ridder man!

how long did it take him to look at gomez and scotland,do you think that the previous season was enough ?

de ridder is every bit as good as gomez or should i say just as bad.

The whole point of my post was that I believe RM did not have enough time to settle in and start looking at Premiership quality players and Whelan is to blame for that. Maybe Scotland and Gomez were panic buys?

How can people be trying to judge RM when he hasn’t been given a proper transfer window to do buisness? (not that he will get the support he needs from the chairman)…The problem is Whelan constantly tryin to do the job on the cheap and now it’s catching up with us.

YOU tell me what I have said that is ‘rubbish’ as you put it?

Or am I totally missing something and we are actually doing great?

I tell you what, mouth, I actually don’t think that either I, or most other fans could do any worse than what the current management team is doing.

For a start, I’d have em looking a lot sharper coming out for the second half. I’ve seen livelier looking pub teams.

Your just a t*t who is using past personal spats. Wake up and smell teh coffee. Latics are sh*t, and are deep in the s*it. Most fans are realising it, however some are not, which frankly, I find alarming.

What a disgrace the fans are who led the game early it’s ridiculous, did u not see us boss a team for large parts of the game to concede 2 free kicks. You would have thought we had lost 9-1! Some of the opinions are just stupid, especially about nzogbia, you obviosuly wasn’t watching the same game as me. He scored cutting in from
the righ, tormented their defence from the right and was man of the match after playing down the RIGHT! You probably wouldn’t no about the man of the match because you where halfway home u die hard ‘fans’!!!
As regards bobby he is the man for the job and we have to get behind him, everyone who knows anything about football can see we have a top class manager. For all the fans who said the players are spineless look at yourselves, your the spineless ones leaving the game early!

Whelan is paying and will pay what Latics can afford. He isn’t going to bankrupt the club and himself on the say so of average Joe supporters.

The way so many speccies are getting on his back would you blame him for taking his money and walking away?

If he does where do you think Latics will end up?

No, no, no – what rubbish!

Everybody knows there is a huge queue of billionaire arabs queueing down the length and breadth of Robin Park to throw daft money at Latics.

To be honest, I don’t blame anybody who left early, at 3-1. Felt like doing so myself. It’s anybody’s right to leave when they want, to be honest.

You’re right about N’Zogbia…..but for the second half Birmingham marked him out of the game, thus nulling our greatest threat. (credit to Alex McLeish there)

I actually would say that I DO know a lot about football, and I also know that Martinez can talk a good game. I also believe he is very knowledgable about the world game. That may be so, and yes, I like the bloke, loved him as a player. But neither he, nor his coaching staff have any top-flight experience, and by god is it showing. I think he is too naive, and simply does not have enough experience both tactically, and in Premiership game situations. He also has no experience to bend the ear of in his coaching staff. Our style of play is rigidly implemented, and at this moment, if it doesn’t work…that’s it. No plan B. We neither have the nous to change things, nor the playing staff to offer us different options. (Look at Blackburn last season. They shoved big Chris Samba up front, and by god did he give them something different. They did us, among others with it.)

The difference in experience, strength, and possibly class, between Birmingham’s squad and ours really shocked and surprised me, as well.
