Is it just me, or does Martinez tend to speak absolute rubbish in post match press conferences. He sounds like a failed management consultant. Its like he’s read an MBA textbook and he’s repeating it all back in the wrong order.
His comments after the Norwich match generally meant absolutely nothing. But they’re the sort of comments that lead papers like the Guardian to call him something like a “bright young progressive manager”, when actually he’s spouting meaningless s**te. Is it just a language thing?
I’d love to hear one of his team talks.
OK. By the way, I’ve got a degree in Spanish.
Thats what I’m asking – is it a language thing? If so, you’d have thought he would keep his sentences and general English simple and direct. I think his English is better than that though, and he’s just trying to sound smart.
For example, what does this mean: “We went through a spell of around 10 minutes with 10 men, with Adrian Lopez receiving treatment for a head injury. However, we found a solution and took a well deserved lead”
The “solution” being to strap Lopez’s head up????…..I’m glad the physio managed to identify that “solution”.
By the way, I thought he let that situation drift way too long when he had a decent centre back playing at right back.

No, the solution that saw us take a well deserved lead was figuring out how to cope without Lopez, i.e. Play with ten men. The clue is that we took the lead whilst Lopez was off the field!
So, the problem IS a language thing. Only it’s yours not Bob’s.

There are some on here who can’t speak English as well as Bob speaks English, let alone Spanish.
