And quick. To think this crap had an extra days rest because they were tired.
22 November 2009 at 8:02 pm #13346So why’s that Martinez’s fault – and getting someone else in will do exactly what with this load of wasters?
22 November 2009 at 8:07 pm #13352Who assembled this load of wasters? Who recently quoted Jason Scotland being the ideal premiership centre forward?
The players obviously have no respect for the manager.22 November 2009 at 8:11 pm #13354what mug will want to come here any way ,and english players wont want to come here ,but hey lets chear up championship will be more fun ,and most of this shite will want to leave us ..just hope that old nut goes as well
22 November 2009 at 8:12 pm #13356Don’t like to crucify individual players. . . . But Edman was at fault for at least 6 of their goals. What the fook was he playing at??
For all those who’ve wanted him in instead of Figueora, I hope you’ve changed your minds today!!
22 November 2009 at 9:56 pm #13392this idiot martinez and gang of backroom staff should do the honourable thing and resign forthwith.let someone with a knowledge of football take over to give us a chance of survival.maybe someone like southgate or curbishley.comeon big dave do the honourable thing and get shut of these novices.
22 November 2009 at 10:04 pm #13397Sentiment over sense.
Sorry, but that’s what it is, whether you care to admit it or not.
This squad what we have is:
1. Crap. Sorry, but Roberto’s players who he has brought in are not good enough.
2. The players we have, the ‘big reputation pro’s’ such as Melchiot, are taking the mick.
3. The squad needs ‘major surgery’ (Copyright Mr P. Jewell) and needs someone with guts, bol*ocks, and a hard face to come in and say “You’re crap, you’re crap, you’re on your way….and you….make me a cup of tea”.
Can’t see Roberto doing that, myself. I bet he’s scared sh*tless of Brenda, and can see him having a ‘Manuel & Mr Fawlty’ type relationship with Whelan.
I wish he’d never come back, because it’s gonna go t*ts up and the legend will be spoiled.
22 November 2009 at 10:16 pm #13405We have taken a hiding and to be honest i can see it happening. The players we have are good enough. Scotland held the ball up well in the first half and we actually had them on the back foot until half time.
My problem with our side is that we dont have any character to stand up and make themselves counted. I think we lack heart and i never thought i would say that about a latics side. It could have been alot different today if we had scored from our chances. THe calls for Bobby to leave are bang out of order, we are rebuilding. Yes we have had a very bad day but calling for a resignation is ridiculous. Someone ban bobbys wigan his opinions stink and so does his optimism… he is no fan, hes just a wind up merchant.
I’m not ignoring our problems but to call for a resignation is ridiculous. I think Figeuroa has been missed, but i thought our whole defence was awful today. Its a bad day to be a wigan fan and i am not looking forward to tomorrow at university.22 November 2009 at 10:17 pm #13406I wouldn’t say Martinez out, but a result like this has been on the cards for a few weeks now, maybe not 9-1, but a big scoreline. I think this is the game that people will finally realise…
1. Martinez will see that alot of the players he has brought in are rubbish. Fact. And the some of the players that were already here are rubbish too, and we’ve failed to get rid of them and move on. Scotland, useless (As I said all along) Gomez, poor again, Edman too old, Melchiot terrible (As I said a few weeks back but everyone slated me for it) Boyce not up to scratch either. Kirkland’s overrated too.
2. Martinez will see that playing players out of position will not work. Rodallega MUST go upfront, N’Zogbia MUST be on the left wing, Scotland and Gomez MUST be on the bench at best.
3. Everyone will see (If they haven’t already) that we need to invest some of the money gained from the sales of Palacios and Valencia (not a cheap shot at Whelan by the way) into the current squad. A no nonsense defender is evidently needed, a right winger is needed as we nothing going forward today, and most of all a striker. These 3 positions must be a priority come January.
So positives can come out of the game, not in terms of performance, but the reaction to the result will be key. We must address the problems, and the players need to show some fight. I don’t care who you are, or who you’re against you cannot lose 9-1 to anybody. Fact, and we need to make changes to improve performances. We need a clearout in the summer, regardless of how we do this season.
So come on Latics, lets show some of the stuff that beat Villa 2-0, some of the stuff that beat Chelsea 3-1. Because on our day we can be decent, we just need to tighten up. Do the basics right. As evidently we aren’t at the minute.
Keep the Faith!

Good post Duke i agree but doesnt it make you wonder how we can be up for one game and fall apart in another. It baffles me.
22 November 2009 at 10:35 pm #13420to the DUKE, i take it you didnt watch the game? “gomez useless” didnt play till last 10mins, plant pot
22 November 2009 at 10:41 pm #13425Absolutely not….
Martinez should stay, the worst thing we can do right now is start calling for his head. The players are not playing for him too often, for whatever reason that is, it could be lack of respect, as he never made it big as a footballer who knows?
But more than ever Latics fans should get behind Bobby and show the players we respect him!
He is the nearest thing we have at our club to someone who has a Latics history and loves the club! We have needed that for so long and all the things Bobby is doing behind the scenes will get some heart back into this club….if we go down in the process so fecking what?? I really believe Bob would get this club going forward again, and we would be bigger and better for it!
The next game is an absolute cracker for the fans to get behind Bob and show the players who we think is boss. In the process we can let Bruce know we think more of our history than he ever fooking did!
Up the Tics!!
22 November 2009 at 10:47 pm #13429well said yickticmon,gi the chap a chance as long as he learns from today all will be well, lets face 15th in prem, rememeber when it was 92nd in football league
22 November 2009 at 11:35 pm #13448GET HIM AND HIS SPANISH BACKRROM STAFF OUT
pathetic today, watched the whole game and we was pathetic, they dont know what they are doing, we have been poor all season bar 2 games, we dont carry a goal threat and Scotland is surely not suited for this standard! no guts, no steal, not enthusiasm, lack of respect for the manager – at least when we had PJ in charge we showed some bollocks and the lads seemed to fight for him, he motivated em, we look like a bag of wet soggy spuds at the min – grow some balls and get PJ back to pull us out the shit, none of this fancy football that we have already can not and repeat CAN NOT play, i would sooner see the old Wigan ath play with some steal and nastiness, fighting for the cause, getting some tackles in pressing team and getting in their faces none of this stand off crap, keeping shape!!! bad result poor performances for a while now… OUT OUT OUT!!!!! fed up, feel sorry for Kirkland as he is the only one with any serious ambition to take this club as hight as we can the rest are pathetic along with the manager, i said at the time this was a bad appiontment and i think i am being proved right!!!! OUT OUT OUT!!! Sack Brenda while we are at it to!!!!!!

Can’t believe you didn’t mention bramble in that rant. Watch MOTD tonight and count the number of goals that went in due to Bramble not picking up his man in the box.
