Lets see what common consensus is amongst our true fans (not just these men who dont even go). I say stay.

4 February 2010 at 12:16 am #21274stay one proviso bring in exp assistant
4 February 2010 at 12:25 am #21276Certain circumstances why i wont go. Ive probably been going longer than you have roy, I would take pre-whelan having indifferent seasons in the old division 3 and enjoying away days, cup runs e.t.c than this dross we have to put up with now (dross being the premiership and Whelan of course)
Oh and
Martinez – Stay – Ive never said otherwise
Whelan – Out, New regime needed i think
4 February 2010 at 12:28 am #21278Stay……………………….for now.
4 February 2010 at 12:38 am #21280STAY
4 February 2010 at 12:44 am #21281Stay!
4 February 2010 at 1:01 am #21283Why when you post do you always get some prick saying ‘by the way i have been going longer than you’. Its a pointless statement. You cant know that and i could be 79 years old for all you know. Self righteous insecure mongs!
4 February 2010 at 1:03 am #21284Stay, it shouldn’t even be a debate, yes he probably needs someone with premier league coaching experience to help him, but he needs time to mold the squad.
I’d ask the “Martinez out” brigade 2 questions.
1) Can you name a side that sacked a manager after 22 league games and went on to achieve what was success for that club in the long run?
2) Spot the managerial connection between 2 results:
FA Cup – Wigan 0 Canvey Island 2
Premier League 2005/06 – Wigan 1 Sunderland 0I rest my case about giving a manager time to build a squad and club into his ways.
4 February 2010 at 1:06 am #21286So 8 say stay. None say go. Just checking im still in the majority. Even if we go down ill still be backing him.

the darkside brigade are probably the same ones who where shouting for jewells head when he 1st took over, things wernt so good then and look what he went on to achieve
4 February 2010 at 1:32 am #21292In fairness ace, after Canvey Island I would have been one of them, I fully expected Jewell to be sacked before I got home after that game…..what happened after just goes to show what a stupid thing to do sacking him would have been. If you believe in your manager, you have to at least give him a season to make his mark, unless relegation happens then you’re entitled to second thoughts
4 February 2010 at 1:41 am #21293Why when you post do you always get some friend saying ‘by the way i have been going longer than you’. Its a pointless statement. You cant know that and i could be 79 years old for all you know. Self righteous insecure mongs!just making reference to the (not just these men who dont even go) statement, ive gone for many years but am fast losing interest. Doesnt make me any less of a fan, Bath Latic, Swindon Latic e.t.c probably dont go(ok completely different circumstances) but it doesnt make them lesser fans.We all want one thing, A bit of ambition, a bit less of a lying chairman and a bit more solidarity in the ground. We could sell out every game but things must change first. Whelan putting the fans down all the time and selling our best players every year isnt helping. There was more atmosphere and love in the early 90s when we played the likes of Halifax then there is now when we play Man Utd. Something, somewhere has gone seriously wrong.
Wasnt a dig or a self glory comment, By no means.
4 February 2010 at 11:23 am #21312He should stay. Even if we bring Pele in to manage us he will be criticised. Remember one thing, Bob has the heart of a Wigan fan we wont get that anywhere else.
Wait and see what happens this weekend, and thats the beauty of football !
4 February 2010 at 11:29 am #21313Even if we bring Pele in to manage us he will be criticised.Quite right, too – apparently, Pele can’t keep anything up these days!
