4 February 2010 at 5:05 pm #21353He should stay. Even if we bring Pele in to manage us he will be criticised. Remember one thing, Bob has the heart of a Wigan fan we wont get that anywhere else.
Wait and see what happens this weekend, and thats the beauty of football !
Bob did play for us granted but lets not kid ourselves he is here to further his career!!!!
It’s a job and if a big club came calling he would jump ship like everyone else.
4 February 2010 at 6:54 pm #21364“yes he probably needs someone with premier league coaching experience to help him”
that comment to me says that you’re saying that you don’t think he’s good enough, that you don’t think the men he has brought in to assist him (and who he said were the men he needed to enable him to do his job well) are good enough and that he needs somebody brought in alongside him to tell him what he needs to do
If that’s the case then to be frank he isn’t up to the job (not that I’m saying that it was I necessarily believe) & should be sacked as you’re creating as ridiculous a situation as when Middlesbrough brought in Venables to “assist” Bryan Robson when he was making a hash of things coz Gibson couldn’t bring himself to either get rid of a man he liked or admit that the bloke he liked wasn’t up to the job
In answer to your 2 questions:
1) off the top of my head no I can’t, but I know there have been numerous clubs who have sacked a manager when they were in relegation trouble & their season has been saved. Long term success I couldn’t say
2) The Canvey Island loss was in November by the February Jewell had turned things around. IMO (and without seeing how the team shapes up with our 2 deadline day signings) far from impoving things the performances seem to be deteriorating4 February 2010 at 6:58 pm #21366Go. Before its too late.
4 February 2010 at 7:09 pm #21373Go. Before its too late.Too late for what? The club will survive a relegation, if that’s what you’re implying. You’ll still be able to watch the Premier League on Sky, so you’ll be OK.

Another veiled dig eh?
I dont watch it on SKy, i watch it on Showsports. I live in Dubai. I have done for 2 years. I still have my season ticket that i pay for and my nephew uses, im back from Dubai in 2 years, and will continue to go, same seat i have had since the stadium opened. They didnt have seats at Springfield Park (well at least not in the Phoenix stand) so my season ticket there was not in the same spot.
It was what i was implying.
Thanks for the concern.

You should get international caps for getting things wrong, pal. ;)
I was actually implying that you prefer watching Premier League football to supporting Wigan Athletic. I have said on many threads that I couldn’t give a flyer who physically goes watching the game and who doesn’t. It’s none of my business for a start and I wouldn’t mind if I was the only one there. Might get a bit of peace that way.

4 February 2010 at 7:38 pm #21390At the end of next year – we can boo, swear and throw coke at Martinez as much as we want. He’s building a team, let him carry on.

Quite right, too – apparently, Pele can’t keep anything up these days! [/quote]
You should not poke fun a people with erectile dysfunctional problems…!4 February 2010 at 8:25 pm #21404i would say stay for now as bringing in a new manager now is just pointless. transfer window as closed and they say that a new manager needs 3 transfer windows before he as the team he wants. we are lucky this season as there are at least 3 teams worse then us. i hope we do not need some thing from are last game as i think its chelsea away?.if he is floundering this time next year then i will be worried. i am happy with his transfer window signings this time so stay.
