I have never had 2 clubs and have always been Wigan Athletic.
I do however hate Utd..This is more because they have so many Glory seeking fans (Many in Wigan), when they SHOULD be supporting their own team. Oh and because their fans think they are gods gift and because they get EVERY decision in EVERY match I have ever seen that involved them (Maybe a slight exaguration) :)

The big myth here is that EVERY Man U fan is from outside Manchester. It is patently not true. It is not the club’s fault that they attract millions of addtional fans from outside Manchester. Yes, those fans might be annoying but the team itself plays great football and I would much rather them, who have built up their club over nigh on a hundred years, win it than Chelsea who have attempted to buy it in the last 10.

That said, I couldn’t give a flyer who wins it but I would be ecstatic if we beat Chelsea.

Oh, and Jimmy – “exaguration”? Enough already, pulling people up about their spelling ;)

“The big myth here is that EVERY Man U fan is from outside Manchester”

The thing is though that everybody buys into it. I’ve spent alot of time working in Manchester over the years & the vast majority of match going football fans from Manchester you meet are Reds.
United also have almost total support from areas that many others class as Manchester (e.g. Salford, Trafford) but fall outside of the city of manchester boundaries

I remember when United beat Inter Milan in 1999 on their way to winning the European Cup some City fan I was working with banging on the next morning that all the “Yeovil, London, Yorkshire etc.. Reds” flags meant only City could consider to be Manchester clubs. He couldn’t answer how that was so when the Supporters Club page in City’s programme when we’d played em a couple of weeks before had a list of 60 odd branches & over three quarters of em were from outside Greater Manchester

I should probably also point out that I now work in Liverpool & whilst on a midweek matchday you’ll see loads of coaches from all over the country making their way along Queens Drive to Anfield, & even though I’ve been in pubs round Anfield when Latics have played them & not heard a single scouse accent, that the vast majority of match going scousers I work with are Liverpool fans. There’s one who watches Everton
In my experience that puts to bed the all scousers support Everton myth too
