3 November 2013 at 7:38 pm #123132Callum I am afraid is not up to it
If you are reading this Callum – nothing personal but can you put a bit more
effort in – many thanksI totally agree with the first part of this. Been saying it for months. A couple of good spells within games doesn’t make a summer. Can’t beat a man. Runs up his own arse. Makes bad decisions. Can’t cross. The ball controls him rather than the other way round. More effort won’t make a jot of difference.
The other winger McLean isn’t much better but I have absolute respect for his effort and commitment. He went in for a 50/50 yesterday like a midfield hardman. Made me wince. Works his b0ll0cks off that lad.
3 November 2013 at 9:25 pm #123137As not many on here appear to know too much about football (apart from bigroy) here is a simple task for you guysWhen Callum has the ball he is confronted by two opposition players – this is due to Callums oppo tracking back and helping out the full back
When our opposition have the ball on the right flank Perch (as in yesterday) or whoever is playing left back has to contend with two opponents coming at him as Callum doesnt track back
However – notice the difference when McClean came on
And to compare him with Ronaldo  just proves my point and with that I rest my case
Obviously we will all have to line up and bow down to your tactical genius. ;)
Mind you as my daughter has scored 56 points to my 40 on this weeks Fantasy Footie you could have a a point !!
I wasn’t comparing him to Ronaldo – I’m not that daft.Ronaldo is the best example of a winger who never tracks back.
Let’s see how Callum performs when he’s played in his correct position rather than totally over reacting and dismissing him as crap as he’s had a few bad games in a wrong position. :)
4 November 2013 at 1:08 am #123145Callum was one of main reasons we won the FA Cup. On his day he can obviously skin any full back but he is a young lad and will gain consistency as he progresses.
Why on earth should we get shut of such a promising, talented player.
As of Jordi, I am getting a bit pissed off with people getting on his back. He was our best player at the start of the season, but he has played a lot of games and looks a bit tired recently. He is a constant threat and not only set up Powell’s goal but created the chance for McCann, when he hit the bar against QPR. It’s easy to forget these things when you have a blinkered view and are waiting for him to drop a bollock.
It’s not tactical geniuses we need on this board and at the DW but people with a realistic view of who we are. We aren’t going to win the FA Cup every year.
Oh sorry I forgot, we are Real Madrid
4 November 2013 at 2:42 am #123146Getting him to sign a new 3 year deal is a great bit of business for the club. Just means DW gets a few bob for him instead of watching him walk away on a “free” . Its a dead cert he wont be at this club by the end of his contract. I have to agree with a lot of the comments….. something is not right with him. Its got nothing to do with him being out of position……that does not stop you putting a shift in !
4 November 2013 at 10:20 am #123150I thought he was coming back to form a bit on Saturday. He is carrying a bit of an ankle injury, so I have heard. Thought Shotton played well, he seems to be able to time his tackles really well.
The problem with Wigan is the strikers are not scoring at all. Powell who is playing c a m is our best player by far, but I for me we need another striker. Holt has no movement at all and playing him up front as a lone striker is a waist of time. He was a bad buy if Coyle is going to keep playing 4 2 3 1.8 November 2013 at 12:22 am #123276Now thenDoesnt track back
No Pace
Cant beat a man
Whats gone wrong with Callum ??
I think you’ll find that it was Mclean not tracking back that cost us tonight mate !!!
Callum tried his best and got chopped off at the knees every time.
8 November 2013 at 1:11 am #123287All due respect but I’m not sure which game you must have been watching.
8 November 2013 at 11:49 am #123302All due respect but I’m not sure which game you must have been watching.Kazan scored because McLean failed to track the fullback and he got a free run into the box.
I realise they then eased off and they may well have scored later if McLean had made a tackle and the fullback not scored but we’ll never know will we?
So which game where you watching? :)
