Thought it would be nice to start making a list of inconsistencies, nonsense and general rubbish that is spouted in the media about the Latics.
Even this morning both the Guardian and Mirror wrote glowing reports about Norwich but seemed reluctant to mention who they were playing. Both reports voted Victor man of the match without mentioning him in the story. This was a change from Sunday’s papers where Wes Hooligan was MoM.
So using Sunday as a starting point:
Lindsay Sutton in the Mirror “Both might be relegation candidates but Norwich will entertain and Wigan won’t”. Elsewhere on the page – “Killer stat – Wigan fired in the most shots of all the sides playing in the 3pm kick-offs.”
The Observer – Premier League Essentials – Fact of the Day – “The opening day had two penalties – both of them missed…….”
Elsewhere on the page Ben Watson is mentioned re hitting the post. So they do know he exists.Any additions to the list should make interesting reading this season. Please add the name of the reporter involved so I can compile a list of shame. :roll:
Long since given up with the media and Wigan.
The more people that can ignore the press the better, and for the first time in years I really got annoyed seeing the adverts for the new premiership, same old story same old media promoted franchise model. The real story of football sits in the classic games, not just top 4 teams. They wont change so dont worry.
Go to the games and enjoy them.
That’s a really good attitude to have. But I do enjoy my Sunday papers and I do get infuriated when they attack my team. The only reason for it is that they don’t want us at their party.
However to get a bit of revenge for them affecting my Sunday leisure I would like to create a portfolio :o of their crimes so that I can at least satisfy myself that they have been biased against us.
Am sure there will be a day when Chairman Dave takes over the world, and they will come to pay for their crimes against the beloved Wigan Athletic.
Top tip ignore MOTD as well, it can only lead to fustraition.

The biggest thing is half don’t actually go to games especially if you look at our press box- 10 or 12 journos in it including radio.

A lot of them get agency copy which they change to suit their own petty agendas – generally anti-Latics
