Matt Smith on and immediately virtually drops into the back line and everything slows down. He didn’t play that deep when he arrived so is this Maloneys tactic ? A Scott Hogan type front man was an absolute must,because for all this youth having zero experience in this league is a recipe for mediocrity. Can’t see us getting anything against Exeter best I can hope for is 0-0…..Mr Bruce not took long shaking the lashers up !!

Cold weather coming. Fans are going to drop off like mad. Can’t blame anyone? Its dire. My lads went with my dad tonight and the people around them are loyal fans. Even they are on about having a break. Attendances are going to absolutely fall. Was there need to even have the South stand open tonight? No. It was shocking how it looked on telly.
Exeter and Peterborough coming up now and I think both teams will have more about them.
Apparently Rankine has struggled to have a shower after the game. The kit man was busy sorting out discarded kit on the floor…and Rankine couldn’t get past him. 🤣
It doesn’t really matter about changes, players should buy into the way a manager wants to play. Granted the individual quality will certainly differ between 1st and 2nd choice players but the style of play shouldn’t.
And that’s my issue wtf is Maloney’s style of play ? Jesus wept. I watched an excellent performance against Birmingham and Bristol Rovers followed by a wet flannel dour display against Lincoln then this ?.
I said against Bristol Rovers it was good to see us shifting it quick from back to front players running with the ball I honestly thought we were turning it around

This insessive passing back at every opportunity raised its ugly head to the point it was becoming a joke.Then after scoring 2 goals via straight corners at Bristol the Maloney short corners are back with vengeance. Even when we play the short corner it’s not long before it’s back in Tickles hands.
The one position that needed changing in the 2nd half was up front Taylor had bombed it round all night and he should have been replaced late on for Stones a bit of muscle and fresh legs up front but Maloney has made it clear as day Stones ain’t wanted at the club, he’d play Chambers up front before him.
Tell me this,how many times does Maloney leave a forward on for the full 90 ?.Then there was minutes left, we get a throw in 5 yard from their corner flag, time to push for a winner. It then gets thrown back then hoofed back to Tickle. From two movements we’d gone from attacking passing it back the length of the field that ain’t f##kin right at any level not even under 8’s.
For me I’m seeing a bunch of players who have been drilled to keep possession and do not risk take plus if you have the slightest doubt, go back, do not risk take, safety first.
The players at times look lost, confused, as if they were on a footballing blind date and they’d never trained together. There’s no method purpose or basic tactic. Maloney by now should be instilling his style but theres a problem with that he doesn’t have one.
It’s belt & braces football on the fly, make it up as you go along and stomach churning hard to digest.
Crowds are dropping, fans are finding hard to watch and we’ve a manager who is void of any individual style. I see BBC Sport and Livescore had tonights attendance listed as 1,419 obviously wrong but believe you me when I say at this rate it won’t be long before were back to Springfield Park crowds.
I’m sorry but Maloney’s not good enough and for me although I want him to make it work at Wigan its just not happening for him which is a real sad thing to watch.
Were like a marriage were a couple both try really hard to make it work and it’s just not happening eventually the split is inevitable.Had Danson had of backed Maloney better in the transfer window I might not be typing this but saying that I’d still need to see a style a vision some sort of footballing progress plus the main issue here is consistency. As it stands I see none of that and we’re currently a country mile off ever achieving that.
The buck stops with Maloney period, if he conducts his post match analysis in the changing rooms the same way he does in front of the press cameras those players will be leaving the ground feeling awful uncomfortable and more confused than before the game.
I feel the players haven’t bought into Maloney’s faceless style of…….. I nearly said football then
I trying to enjoy it I really am but I’m struggling. BBC CTI feel the managers holding the players back. There’s currently more wrong than right but for me we have no footballing indenity but more importantly,
No Consistency which I think is the key. I don’t think Danson will put up with this çfor too long. His uncomfortable speeches don’t inspire me and by the looks of it neither are the players

Just listened to Maloney’s post match interview, was he at the game ? because he talked about a different game to the one I saw.
Heaped praise on 2 very good sides in Lincoln and Stevenage. Then, we lacked that final edge up front, well sub your forward, his interview is cringeworthy.Then to top it off he decided to draw a favourable comparison with tonights performance to last year’s against Stevenage, how is that possible ?. We are a virtually total different football team.
I’m lost honestly I’m lost for words, then finally were 7 games in and he reckons it still feels like a pre season, well he better start head wobbling a few players.
Na he’s not for me, I’ve tried and I’m still trying but I’ve lost patience and faith there is no method in his crazy style of…..

I got right behind Maloney after Bristol but reverting to this crap for another 180 mins I really can’t see us gaining any consistency under him. Might as well offload Stones on loan now because yes it is evident his times up under this manager. Agree with CW ,he seems to have no idea how to motivate them and certainly a system they understand. Whoever or whatever the reason was why we didn’t recruit an experienced striker will be one of the main reasons we’ll struggle. Heard some praising Sibbick after the game …..really…..I’m in east and 2nd half I thought he was a liability 3 times in 10 mins gave ball away 15 yards outside our box.The short corners sum us up perfectly, 8 with 4 ending up back with Tickle,yet at Bristol 2 goals came from pinging them in the box so why the change ?.Does Maloney over analyse the opposition ? This is league 1,not Champions league !!!!His interview a F%%%%%%%%% joke…..2 good sides. really ???….Does Danson actually look at the results? Manager before this fella was a joke and this fella is proving just as bad. Buy I feel it’s all about stalling tactics…not many managers would work under such constraints. They know this. Most other managers would only come of they were backed.
