Not far out fat fella but not sure what habsi could have done with all the goals yesterday, free kick possibly but you could argue he did well to get a hand on it after the deflection.
I’d tell him play this team
Ali
Scharner Alcaraz Boyce
Mac mac mac fig
Di santo Maloney
Kone
…please drop Al Habsi, Caldwell, McCarthy and Beausejour.
Bring in Robles, Alcaraz, Espinoza and McManaman, there’s a good manager.
Robles? Worth a try. Can’t be any worse than Al Habsi who’s confidence seems shot to pieces and struggles to even catch a ball at the moment.
Alcaraz for Caldwell? A fully fit Alcaraz for anybody really.
Espinoza for McCarthy? Eh? I know McCarthy had a stinker yesterday but…. Espinoza is too slow and very often gets caught in possession. Skeptical of players who’s feet are at ten to two.
McManaman for Beausejour? He’s just not ready yet to play 90 minutes in the Prem. Doesn’t have the defensive nouse or attributes Beausejour provides to cover for Figueroa’s appalling positional play.

My post was not just aimed at yesterday’s performance, it was taking into account a lot of the games this season.
As for Ali Habsi he has been awful this season, yes he can pull a great save off, but that is to be expected from any premiership goalie. His positional play is poor, he doesn’t have the confidence to come off his line for crosses and his distribution, well lets just say it needs improving.
The Suarez free kick yesterday was a good example of his poor positional play. When he has lined the wall up to protect he’s right hand half of the goal, he just has to look after the couple of yards to his left. If the ball is hit over the wall with pace and dip to go in, just hold your hands up and say great strike. But no, just as Suarez hits the ball he takes a step to his right, takes a little slip and is then stretching to deal with a ball he should have dove and dropped on. Deflection or no deflection, it was just a couple of yards not the full length of goal he was protecting.
He managed a clean sheet against Reading, but that was because he had nothing to really trouble him for 90 mins.
The same with McCarthy, he has been well below par for the last few months. Even during the win at Reading nobody really noticed what his contribution was and basically it was hardly anything.
He typifies a player who has got a name for himself and suddenly he is johnny big balls. How many times does he play a stray pass when its just a simple ten yarder? He hit about 3 or 4 passes last night straight into touch about 15 yards from it’s intended target.
Straight from the kick off in the second half right in front of were I sit, he ran and beat a Liverpool player to the ball only to back heel it straight to their player. At 3-0 down the show boating stuff should be put away for another game.
I didn’t expect to win yesterday and had already written it off before the kick off. Liverpool are a team in form and Suarez is unplayable at the moment. I just knew he would give our defenders the run around, he’s done it to world class defenders so he’ll do it to ours.
I still believe we will beat the drop again this season, but there are a few changes needed in order to do it.
We need to stop this crazy three centre backs and win back formation, teams are just coming here and pegging back our full backs so we end up with a back five.
One of our full backs is too fat a the other to old.

It was a flat back 4 yesterday and that went well didn’t it?
