Keep hearing this word ‘ tinkering’ however didn’t a certain Mr Jewell do plenty of that in the clubs last major transitional season of 2001-2002 ?
After the season of weeding out the deadwood and trying different things ( transitional periods follow the same pattern at any club) ,which is what our manager seems to be doing each week ,a gradual improvement was seen and we all know what happened in the seasons that followed.
The problem with this season so far is far too much pressure has been applied to get back to the Premier league rather than take each game as it comes and build towards the goal again in a more steady fashion and far too many players were purchased by his predecessor.
seasons like this one have happened before and I’m sure the similarities with PJs reign will mean that the club sticks with Uwe for this season at least until he has cleared out the deadwood in January- ageing players , players not featuring etc.
A management change could damage this club so badly now that I think the effects would be far reaching for years to come and a relegation battle would be a certainty rather than a slow but steady improvement which seems to be the happening at the moment.Very good post.

Sorry vincehill, it wasn’t meant to sound like that!I was just shocked at reading a decent post on the forum for a change that doesn’t contain a derogatory remark about a present or past manager.
