watching ali kick the ball yesterday i honestly thought he has somthing medically wrong with his foot that it kicks the ball so dramaticaly to his left every time. think we need a back up keeper to keep him on his toes, strugeling a bit at the moment and what if he gets injured, always liked robinson think he would be a good choice.

Ali kicks the ball to be headed on by Boyce or Beausejour standing where the side line meets the halfway line. If they miss it, of course it goes out.
It’s a more difficult task than just booting it up-field. Boyce and Beausejour are often strong enough to win a challenge in the air. Martinez must think that it gives Di Santo and Kone a better chance of gaining possession.
If it’s a tactic we are going to go with I would suggest we go towards the right hand side where Boycie will probably win more than he loses. Yesterday Beausejour lost virtually every header to their short arsed full back.
Lets face it Jean isn’t built for jumping. :blush:
