Interesting comments from him. Sounds like he’s a manager with a bit more foresight than ours………….”Charlie has done well for them in the way they play,” he added.
“I’ve been watching a lot of him and he’s hitting a lot of long diagonals off his left foot to Kieffer Moore, very much as we would have played in to Danny Graham for a long time.
“Yet I’m trying to grow the club. You can take a football club so far by playing that type of football, in my opinion, or that brand of football. We got out of League One and consolidated in the Championship by doing it.”
We’re in a period of transition trying to do something different and trying to give us a better chance of being a team moving towards the top end of the table and not sit around the middle of the table.“I don’t want to make it an issue because I’m more interested at the moment in players who are available for us to play.”………..
21 December 2019 at 6:40 pm #183059Mowbray hates us TBH. He would find a way to have a dig if we played better football than City and Liverpool combined.
21 December 2019 at 6:43 pm #183060Nah……I think he’s comments are fair,and at present he’s proved he’s a far superior manager to our lost cause. League table proves that.
21 December 2019 at 6:55 pm #183061I agree he’s probably right at this stage but he slagged us off in League One when we were the best footballing side in the division. Not to mention Mulgrew apparently left after they had a bust up so hardly going to heap praise on him either.
They have far better players than us pretty much across the board and so yes they should be above us. That isn’t me sticking up for Cook BTW
21 December 2019 at 7:29 pm #183062Not sure about the players. .they didn’t spend last window…..on loan City defender. Dack a huge plus..as I stated last season I would have swapped Powell plus cash for him then.Just a better manager…that saying I’m desperate for us to roll em over Monday.
21 December 2019 at 9:04 pm #183067Nah……I think he’s comments are fair,and at present he’s proved he’s a far superior manager to our lost cause. League table proves that.Better manager, better players, better club, in all honesty. I can’t actually believe we have sold 1800 tickets for it. Absolute gluttons for punishment, I think.
Worries me big time, because they are not going to sack Cook over the festive period, so he will still be here when the transfer window starts…I wouldnt give Cook a penny.
Things dont look very good at the moment.
21 December 2019 at 9:15 pm #183069Head in the sands Royle and his puppet board with their hangers on may get a message from 2000 Latics fans if things go pear shaped yet again on Monday night.

Why do you keep having a go at the fans just cos they support their team?. We all know how bad we are doing away from home, but a team is for life not just for the good times. If you don’t want to go that’s your perogative, don’t keep having a pop at the loyal supporters there is no need for it.

Not having a go at supporters, just surprised we’ve sold 1800 tickets for a game 2 days before Christmas. Given our away record as well.

Cheap tickets;
Kids for a quid and they’re off school;
Its only 30 miles up the road;
A win would take Latics out of the relegation zone and if they did it, ‘supporters’ would want to be there.22 December 2019 at 2:14 am #183083Nah……I think he’s comments are fair,and at present he’s proved he’s a far superior manager to our lost cause. League table proves that.

I will watch it on tv in the warmth, with a jd and coke and assorted nibbles from the £100 voucher I used at M&S food on Robin Park today. Lovleh.

I answered your comment ‘…just surprised we’ve sold 1800 tickets for a game 2 days before Christmas.’, with reasons why they would go. I would also hazard a guess that those not going would have various reasons not to, but few would say ‘I don’t want to be there’.

22 December 2019 at 5:12 am #183089What has trade descriptions got to do with it?
