LMB – I read it wrong. I didn’t detect the sarcasm about the rugby’s value.
Back to whelan, the fact that JJB may or may not have profited is immaterial, as we have disagreed about before.

no problem with not agreeing with my JJb theory its just my opinion, but do you honestly believe a man who has never given as much as a groat to anybody in his entire life is going to get starry eyed and shell out anything without putting in place a system for getting every penny + a bit more than he has ever invested back.
and i am not knocking him for that i would do the same in his shoes.7 November 2010 at 11:53 pm #50387a man who has never given as much as a groat to anybody in his entire life.Is this a fact or is it your opinion again?
8 November 2010 at 12:04 am #50392The board is full of opinions tonight,

its probably a little of both – some direct personal experience, general public knowledge, his own writings and media coverage that he seemed quite proud of at the time (remember the ruby wax show).
8 November 2010 at 10:53 am #50412oh well! here’s me hoping my original post would start a reasonable discussion amongst adults. with all due respect its become the griff .v. loudmouthblue show. your both on the wrong site. you should both be on jeremy kyle.

We’re more like husband and wife. I’m obviously the husband though, as I can rationally see both sides of an argument whereas he is having nothing to do with my views whatsoever.
We may well have a good old ding-dong on here but, as you will see from many other non-“sack Martinez” type threads, we actually see eye to eye on a lot of things. And usually without resorting to calling each other names. I know I call him a miserable, tedious get and he calls me a trendy, well-dressed fashionista, but those things are just indisputable facts. ;)
That said, we should probably have never got married in the first place, in hindsight.
8 November 2010 at 2:02 pm #50424Always nice to see some infighting.
My take is that as long as we are in the Premiership we will struggle, gone are the days we would be confident of finishing top half.
Fans on here get frustrated by the poor results, positive people and negative people alike. Some decide to get one with it and try support the team, which is all we can do as fans. The amount of negative comments you hear in the stands cant help the players.
Others decide that change will make things better, and feel they need to vent their anger and sweeping statements on this site. My take on this is that its easy to poke the finger of blame, but if you really had the solution then you would be a football manager by now and earning a fortune, you aren’t so it all comes down to opinions. I rarely hear conclusive arguments that might solve our problems. Simply sacking Martinez will do what, destabilise the club, undermine the confidence of the players who play for martinez, and end up with a new manager another 4 transfer windows until we have a settled team, which will give you (The negatives) enough time to rise up with comments about them getting the sack, change formation etc with another internet campaign….
We are where we are and Chairman Dave has said Martinez will stay, so get used to it and get behind the team.
My solution would be to bring in some managerial experience to help Martinez.

That’s all very well but Martinez is the anti-Christ so must be eliminated!
8 November 2010 at 3:14 pm #50430If he were the anticrist, surely he could summon up his evil minions and get us some wins !
8 November 2010 at 3:58 pm #50436If he were the anticrist, surely he could summon up his evil minions and get us some wins !How can we mere mortals possibly hope to understand the mind of the anti-Christ?

She never lays the law down, and I have her permission to say so, too. There’s not much I post on here that I wouldn’t say to your face if we were debating it but the written word does sometimes come across differently than it would if we were talking in person.
