Going off the body language in the director’s box I suspect Cook had a bit of explaining to do after the game.
Maybe thats why he’s trying to cover his tracks, it looks like changes are imminent!

Cook also expanded on his quotes in Monday’s Wigan Post, when he asked a section of the home support to eradicate the ‘negativity spreading round’ the ground.
“So much is negative at the moment, and I must admit I’m struggling with that,” the Latics boss explained.
Curious comment that. I accept the place isn’t bouncing but I don’t detect obvious negativity from the crowd during games. Maybe there’s an expectation the team should be pushing on from the already positive start but that hasn’t happened, certainly of late.
I think those at the game on Saturday have a right to be disappointed in the performance. Two weeks off and it showed, quite noticeably. Fair play to Bradford. We are the team to beat and they came here on the back of a bad home defeat the week before so were up for it. But we made it far easier for them by lacking in match fitness and awareness. Questions should be asked as to what benefit there was by resting the entire team, whatever that entailed, during the international break.
However, if he reads this site on a regular basis I can fully understand where the negativity he talks about comes from.
