McLean lost the right to not be treated like a complete cnut the day he put up a photo of himself in his latics tracksuit top wearing the Easter Lily – a symbol which is linked to the IRA.
On the bright side, its comforting to know that a percentage of his wages go towards the spending on the British Military he despises.
7 November 2018 at 11:32 pm #172981Like everyone has been saying it’s his right to free speech. Shame to de-face a Latics tracksuit with that though.
Agree it is comforting though Mutty.7 November 2018 at 11:42 pm #172982On the bright side, its comforting to know that a percentage of his wages go towards the spending on the British Military he despises. With good reason
8 November 2018 at 12:08 pm #172988I take it that you were against the appointment of Uwe Rostler and Martinez as managers then, seeing as they will have also had people from their countries killed by the british military before they were born.
McLean is a cnut who would have had his poppy boycott forgotten if he hadn’t then publicly supported a terrorist organisation. Don’t forget his protest at a WBA game in the US when he disrespected the national anthem.
Matic hasn’t yet worn a symbol supporting ISIS, PLA, Al Quaida, Al Shabab or any other murderous scum, so I respect his decision to not wear a poppy.

A man who is British hates the British military for people dying in Derry in the Easter Uprising. Yet supports a cause who cowardly murdered hundreds by detonating explosives then had the brass neck to call it war. How does that hypocrite feel about Omagh and Enniskillen where innocent people from both sides of the divide were butchered by bombs. A 10 year old child in Warrington the Birmingham pub bombings and countless of attacks in London. That scum piece of shit should think before he spouts his vitriol.
8 November 2018 at 2:57 pm #172992I think it was Bloody Sunday that McLean feels passionate about enough to not wear a poppy. I haven’t seen a quote attributed to him that denounces IRA atrocities in Warrington, Enniskillen, Birmingham, Guildford, Canary Wharf, Manchester and omagh in such a strong and passionate manner as he espouses what happened in Derry before he was even born.

The cinema in Longridge where we go sometimes is an old school cinema that plays the national anthem before the film and I never stand up for that as I’m anti royal family, my choice! The stares I get though ! Also I got banned from my local British Legion back in the day for the same thing!
8 November 2018 at 3:21 pm #172994I dont sing god save the queen either. i have sang god save YOUR queen against the aussies, welsh and scots though. They love it.

8 November 2018 at 3:32 pm #172997That photo made my blood boil mutt lost it for a minute. Everyone’s right about freedom of choice and speech but when its dipped in hypocrisy as he shows it stirrs up reaction. Most nations will have a part of history that they are shamed of and rather forget especially in times of war. As I said in an earlier post Ulster and the troubles are complicated, unique horrible and best forgotten. We do not need turds like him raking up the past. Sorry for the rant.

They love it.When we ‘had to’ sing the national anthem before the FA Cup final I of course sang “god save our gracious TEAM etc etc” Seemed to work well.
12 November 2018 at 4:35 pm #173048So, McLean is a Republican, and his beliefs are that Northern Ireland should be part of a united Ireland, that is not part of a bigger union; a union that divides the population.
It’s not as if the mainland UK could ever be part of a bigger union that divides the opinions of the population like that is there????
12 November 2018 at 9:19 pm #173054If you look at the graveyards of the Somme and other sad places around the world were men have been lost in combat falling for their country you will see why his beliefs will only ever be beliefs and wont come to fruition.
Thank goodness the peace process is now there so our people can hopefully live together peacefully. -
