Just decided not to go tonight !
Somehow, I just can’t summon up the enthusiasm !
Why is that.I wonder ?
It’s never happened before, in the last 50 years of following the Latics !Never mind, the club can still count my season ticket and pretend that all is well.
At least in the dark days of the past, the owners never hid.
Now we don’t appear to have a long term strategy at the club; well, not one that they are prepared to tell us about.
We now appear to be prepared to sell our better players, with no sign of replacements.
Don’t even mention: one up front / not playing to maximise players individual strengths / negative & protectionist approach to the game / never giving our young guns a chance / persisting with below par performers / poor choice and timing of substitutions / etc.All in all a depressing picture that feels like we are already resigned to sinking into league one without a whimper.
Before any smart arse says “get behind your club”; just remember that I have spent enough to buy a classic Jensen Interceptor Mk2, following the Latics over my lifetime. I am one of the most positive people that I know; so it must be bad, to deflate my enthusiasm,
That said; I’ll be back for the old enemy = Knob End !

29 January 2020 at 2:29 am #184429Keep away if that’s how we are going to fair when you don’t go. Lol
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!29 January 2020 at 2:35 am #184433Unlikely hero’s tonight !!
Moore ,Lowe and Jacobs best players for us in that eventful second half but they all did really well.
The subs seems to work tonight and while I still think we will be relegated at least they gave us something to cheer about at home.
To be fair to Lostock I also was thinking about the warmth of indoors and why do I bother after that absolutely terrible first half display.29 January 2020 at 2:41 am #184436Just decided not to go tonight !Somehow, I just can’t summon up the enthusiasm !

Cook and his shite football will be gone someday Al. Even if we have to wait for the greedy get to run his contract down.
29 January 2020 at 2:44 am #184437First half I was thinking the same as you Lostock. Second half, glad I went now!!
29 January 2020 at 2:52 am #184445I was ready for walking out when Gelhardt was subbed off.
Somehow, tonight was typical Latics

Why? What exactly did Gelhardt contribute?
29 January 2020 at 2:57 am #184449Noute otter but dont let that ruin the mystique.
50 years or 5 years lostock….good riddance to ya pal. Dont come back.

He was no better, or worse, than anyone else up to that point, apart from playing in Robinson in the 1st half. But as we were on top I had visions of him linking up with More to win the game. I never expected the subs to have such a dramatic effect, why would I after this season so far?
Credit where credits due, the subs worked, Jacobs looked fresh, Lowe scored, we held on.29 January 2020 at 11:55 am #184461Noute otter but dont let that ruin the mystique.50 years or 5 years lostock….good riddance to ya pal. Dont come back.
Lostock Fella, we will welcome your return for the Knob End game.
Just ignore the genitalia that is Super Stuart Barlow (superfluous stupid bastard that he is); everybody dislikes the weasel
29 January 2020 at 1:17 pm #184465I’m sure you’ve seen plenty worse in your time Lostock. You used to go to all the aways back in Jewell’s first season when we were getting stuffed at places like Wrexham with players walking round with their hands in their pockets. Much worse of an experience than we are seeing now.
Are you sure the problem isn’t sitting next to Horc for 90 minutes?
29 January 2020 at 3:18 pm #184466I keep going in the hope we call pull it off. As for stu’s comment …ffs lad give it a rest. The view of lostocks is one shared by many others, If not we’d have 15,000 every week.
All’s we want is, players giving their best regardless of the quality and the manager getting it right both starting 11 and substitutions then Latics fans will back him all the way.No one can doubt the past 12 months plus has tested the patience of every Latics fan. We have some really tough games starting this Saturday. I’ve a feeling Leeds are still p1ssed with us last year so a backlash might be on the books, I’m hoping I’m wrong.
You know your in the sh1t when your looking at others results.29 January 2020 at 4:42 pm #184467I was ready for walking out when Gelhardt was subbed off.

More importantly it does the lad no favours whatsoever and only adds the pressure that has already been placed on his clearly self-evident, inexperienced shoulders.

You know your in the sh1t when your looking at others results. If losing games in the 2nd tier has tested your patience you probably need to reassess who you actually are supporting. If you cant stomach a few losses in the 2nd tier when you’ve seen us in the non league days then again you probably need to reassess stuff.
VAT was ridiculed for jumping ship, lostock gets praised for it.
