28 May 2013 at 4:33 am #114587Not going to, BB – already has done:
“At the same time the ordinary and preferred ordinary shares of the Club were transferred to a new parent company, Wigan Athletic Holdings Limited which also holds a controlling interest in the company operating the DW Stadium. ”

This should be rectified later today.

28 May 2013 at 2:22 pm #114607Is anyone else getting an e-mail with every response?
I’m getting e-mails saying “A new reply has been posted on the Cockney Latic Message Board” for each posting on this thread.

29 May 2013 at 3:32 am #114876There is now a cog-style settings icon to the right on the main header navigation bar which will allow you to change the default font size.
It’s currently set to medium but for all you Mr. Magoo’s out there it can be changed to large.
29 May 2013 at 11:47 pm #114961Garswood.. Do the Latics now own the DW then??? That article isn’t to clear? (I checked with my mate just in case I had been dreaming it) and he confirms that there was a statement in the Observer or WEP a couple of years ago saying that Dave Whelan was going to give the ground to the Latics. I would love to be able to find it. To shut some Chubsters up.
30 May 2013 at 4:35 pm #115045I wrote the below when the annual return came out, in it you see that Wigan Athletic Football Club is now owned by Wigan Athletic Holdings, which is also the company that owns the DW Stadium.
Hope that helps.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
30 May 2013 at 4:58 pm #115048Hi Jason thanks for the info. Now I can get my stick with an ‘orses head handle out and stick it in Wallace’s ear and see what reaction I get ;)
30 May 2013 at 11:11 pm #115091Hi Ron
I think Jason has clarified it.
Wigan Athletic is now owned by a company Wigan Athletic Holdings, who also own the DW Stadium. So effectively the company that owns Latics owns the stadium. Because of the way company law works it is never going to be the case that Wigan Athletic per se own the stadium, just as I suspect most clubs are in fact subsidiaries now of a bigger business group.
For all practical purposes though the rugby team are rent payers to Wigan Athletic Holdings. They have no part in Wigan Athletic Holdings.
