Wigan certainly didn’t offer much in the first half. But Martinez did take action at half time. He brought on Henriquez and the team played to a much higher tempo in the second half.
Wigan hit the bar through Henriquez and Figueroa before winning the penalty. Martinez then went all out for a win, bringing on McArthur and finishing with three forwards – Bosselli, Henriquez and Dicko.
Tuesday 15 January – Wigan replay at Bournemouth
Tuesday 15 January – Sunderland v Bolton replay
Saturday 19 January – Wigan home to SunderlandHowever, I do think that we have missed our chance. Which game do you think is more important – Bournemouth or Sunderland?
6 January 2013 at 3:00 pm #99262Espinoza seemed to have the mobility of a pensioner at half time on the pitch – very stiff !!!
Sorry but you are now judging players by how they looked (to you) in the warm up at half time??
You cannot be serious
Have you ever watched Di Santo practice shooting before kick off. Try it it will explain a lot !! ;)
Did you ever watch The Duke’s pre game shooting practice ?
Couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo but he didn’t do too bad for us did he!
6 January 2013 at 3:16 pm #99267Oh believe it.Please believe it.We were crap!!
Not on about how poor we were,Espinoza not trained proper if at all with his new team mates plus just flown from honduras or where ever, the lad from utd not played any 1st team football only reserves, come streight into the team an F.A CUP game at that against a lower league team, remember back in the day when we got a big cup draw how much we lifted our game and how do you blame boselli if he isnt getting the service and the players at the back off him are as bad
6 January 2013 at 3:23 pm #99275Very poor performance. One shot on target in 90 minutes excluding the penalty which Gomez did his best to cock up.We did hit the bar twice though.1. Played with a back 4 so struggled to retain the ball in midfield.
Boselli was useless as usual, the new lad from utd didn’t impress either. Poor control.
You’d think some of the fringe players would try to impress but no.
2. Espinoza seemed to have the mobility of a pensioner at half time on the pitch – very stiff !!!
1. No we didn’t. When in possession it was a back three as per the usual.
2. Are you taking the p1ss with this? Please tell me you are.
6 January 2013 at 3:29 pm #99279Garbage as usual, time for a change, let me be the first to say it.MARTINEZ OUT,I await the Martinez mafias reply goodpost
Heard a lot of passing comments on way out and I think he’s lost the majority of the support.
What does he expect? That was shite. At least the midweek replay gives him an excuse when we are beaten in our following league match……
Spanish Clown!
P.S. This ‘passing football’ we supposedly play. It’s awful. 95% of passes are sideways…..its rubbish.
That’s a lot of passing comments to listen to Dave. I reckon 5,000 or so would have made up a majority on Saturday.
Yes, he’s lost the support, like he did last season, and the season before that, and the season before that. A couple of decent results and lo and behold, they’re all back on side again.
6 January 2013 at 5:17 pm #99290I personally can’t take anybody’s opinion seriously if they feel they have to insult our football club or ANY of its representatives.
I’ve known Dave for a long time and he knows there is no need to be insulting to get a point across – so why are you doing it? Effect? Grow up and have adult debates, I am sure Roberto seeing someone call him a Spanish Clown will be like water off a ducks back, but that doesn’t mean it is OK to do it.
I remember you asking me to remove many threads and posts over the years because it was potentially affecting you work, I remember you calling them cowards and not fit to burn for doing it to you….. is this any different?
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

No it was a back 4 it’s just that Stam was so far up the pitch at times it may have looked like a 3.
And no I’m serious. ;)
6 January 2013 at 6:59 pm #99311Absolute streaming hound mound. Each time we rested players for the embarrassments that were Notts co, , Blackpool, Swindon, ,Bradford etc we have then gone on to lose the next league game too, so rotating our rice paper squad is working a treat. Quality wise this 3sorry 4 now season plan has us with no better than we had when he arrived and me for one is cocked off with results like yesterday (which isn’t a one off) becoming acceptable. It would be a respite to have a little trot in a cup but we only need to rest 2 players and we are goosed.

He’s also forgotten to mention that nobody seemed to mind the resting of players when we trounced West Ham and Nottingham Forest in the Carling Cup this season.
I really hope some of these people have unbreakable furniture and have all sharp objects removed from their houses when they get home after a game.
Samaritans must shite themselves whenever they see the results on Saturdays and we’ve lost.

I never get angry, I prefer the sarcastic approach. Not many can deny that the season so far has been a let down ! ;)
6 January 2013 at 7:52 pm #99324Bolton home if you want to be picky…..but the point was meant to be that all this dung about taking time/skill/ patience to build a resilient squad granted on a restricted budget has progressed not a jot in 31/2 seasons.Still struggling with any consistency (apart from the last seasons still unfathomable run in) and no confidence we will do so any time soon.
