I remember you asking me to remove many threads and posts over the years because it was potentially affecting you work, I remember you calling them cowards and not fit to burn for doing it to you

I personally can’t take anybody’s opinion seriously if they feel they have to insult our football club or ANY of its representatives.

I’ve known Dave for a long time and he knows there is no need to be insulting to get a point across – so why are you doing it? Effect? Grow up and have adult debates, I am sure Roberto seeing someone call him a Spanish Clown will be like water off a ducks back, but that doesn’t mean it is OK to do it.

I remember you asking me to remove many threads and posts over the years because it was potentially affecting you work, I remember you calling them cowards and not fit to burn for doing it to you….. is this any different?

      Jason,

Ok, I accept and admit that I should not have labelled our manager a ‘Spanish Clown’, as there was no need for me to go that far. He’s a nice bloke…blah blah blah…

But I stand by everything else I have said. We are mediocre, have gone backwards (go back two and half years on here….same discussions, same criticism of playing faults and manager) and I, and I know I am not alone, think it’s time we had a new manager and did away with this absolute dross we are churning out.

Don’t exepect you to agree with me, as you are in the ‘happy clapper’ gang. That’s more than clear. It’s like people try and ignore the fact that we are shite because we have a ‘nice bloke’ in charge. Really.

I know shite football when I see it, and we ARE shite.[/quote]

I wouldn’t say we have gone backwards in Bobby’s time as a manager. I think you have to look at how other clubs have progressed. There are teams who have been in and around the top 6 that would normally be mid to lower half of the table e.g. Fulham. There have been no relegations on 12-15 points its been quite competitive for the past 3-4 seasons.

I have to agree with Bobby when he says its the best group of players we’ve had for a long time, because yes, we have took points off Man U, we have won at Anfield, Emirates and beat Spurs at WHL.
Lets see were we finish this year, its only half way through the season and lots can happen. We have had the worst run of injuries and suspensions I have ever known in my time watching Latics particularly at the back. this together with some awful penalty decisions have cost us at least 8-10 points.
The squad is slowly getting back to full strength again and there are some very winnable games coming up. If we can keep this squad together and add a few more faces then I will expect a finish anywhere between 9th to 15th.
I’m not up Bobby’s harris the man has a lot to learn but I am glad he is learning at our club and not Liverpool or Villa.

      From Matlock to ManU
      What a journey!

I’d be inclined to agree with that tbh. Our performances this season have been far better than 18th place.

Bradford seem to be working wonders. They must have some squad (or be fitter than us?) to compete for Promotion in the 46 game Division 2, the Johnstones paint trophy, the FA cup and the league cup! It’s a wonder these lads can still stand up! It’s hard enough for our guys to play a game (on average) every 9-10 days over the year apparently. Outstanding effort.

Outstanding effort, play with pride and passion.

What could have been indeed (always on, once we drew Bradford) … ?

Some day out for the Bantams if they make the final.

            Best of luck to them.

Bradford’s your old stomping ground isn’t it? ;)

Have been very critical of RM but not anymore. The team has played well in lots of games this season and with a few breaks would be 9 points better off. The injuries haven’t helped either. RM is far from a clown. he’s bright and thoughtful and has got a Wigan team passing the ball like I’ d never believed possible. My concern is that we don’t have a match winner this year and we might pay the price. just watched N’zogbia for Vila and am amazed that they waste him. Plonk him in our team and we’d be comfortable. You can’t balance the books and excel in the Prem. I do ask myself where the money goes to but then think that every Prem club is run to give rich capitalists another million or so.Dont imagine little Wigan’s any different.

had me worried for a minute then !

though if truth be told, I did study at /play footie for Bradford Uni.

Recall very well the Bradford fire disaster; over at Springfield Park for the afternoon to watch Latics beat Rotherham; saw the drama unfold on TV at G Parents (Wigan) after the game. Nightmare.

Good luck to them – could so easily have been us.

A case now of what might have been ….

I like to know who I’m talking to, that’s all! (and it was pretty bloody obvious!)
