Leaving the DW Stadium on the 8th May 2013; the day after we got rolled over by Swansea. That adds a little bit of intrigue into my belief that DW was “happy” to let RM go.

Despite all the posturing and denials by Whelan and Kendrick, Martinez was approached in the week following the FA Cup semi-final and interviewed and agreed in principle before the cup final.

It was agreed by by all parties that no announcement was made until after the season ended.

Sorry to taint our newly founded friendship lmb but I call bullsh*t.

If you have some evidence to back up your claim though I am all ears.

I heard that he was seen on a grassy knoll in Dallas, and that’s why some people don’t like him

If the matter was confidential, then why on earth would they meet at the DW Stadium?

Had Fergie already decided to retire?

Was David Moyes lined up for Old Trafford?

Was Martinez agreed as the next Everton manager?

I’m not surprised that arrangements were put in hand. But I am surprised that there were no leaks.

I’m afraid, my new found mate, that at some point you are going to have start backing up all these “in-the-know” claims otherwise people will be screaming “bullshit” just like Salford has.

Adds a little bit of intrigue to my belief that an out of work football manager who lives with within 20 miles of a premier league football ground is highly likely to go to a match at that ground on a Tuesday night rather than stay at home and watch Eastenders.

You are the person who is going to back ‘my claim’ up, I know you have the ear of a person who knows the full story, tell him what I have said and watch his face when you ask him if it is true or not.

You can then come back here and tell me i am talking through my backside.

And whats with all this friendship stuff from you and salford?

Lets just use the analogy of opposite sides playing football in ‘no mans land’ on christmas day during WW1

By August we can retreat to our own trenches ready for the battle ahead.

I would suggest if you know this as a fact that it came from the Everton end, not WAFC. I wouldn’t dream of asking people I might know to divulge that information and there is even less chance of them telling me even if I did. And quite right too.

So, if your source is indeed at WAFC, then you carry on showing off, if you want to run the risk of dropping them in the shit.

Griffter, my good fellow; we played Swansea on the 7th May whereas LHL claims that Owen was spotted coming out of the DW the following day. And in his own words today he says “when I first stepped into the DW” I knew this is where I wanted to be; thus potentially and unwittingly giving us a clue that the first meeting of sorts, was at the Stadium. Conspiracy theory – yes definitely. Whilst Roberto might have been a “nice son to Dave”, you don’t necessarily want your “nice son” managing your football team. Dave strikes me as a boss that would demand more fire & passion from his key employees, so maybe that’s why he severed the umbilical cord.

That’s a very good point, I didn’t really read that properly.

Anyway, it still proves jack. Not as if somebody associated with this forum would just blatantly make something up.

Sorry but I am still not buying into it, unemployed managers are seen at football matches all the time!

Phil Brown was pestering Ali before the match at Macclesfield but he didn’t take over from King.

Maybe if Roy Keane gets a job at our ticket office I may come around to your way of thinking.

I am not asking you ask someone to “divulge” anything, other than saying if my story has any basis, but you have hit 2 nails on the head with what you say.

I will confirm my ‘source’ was at the Everton end and they got in quite a bit of trouble for letting the story ‘partly’ out of the bag. They got a right bollocking and only got away with it because of their age and naivety.
