a few more out then piley on, probably 5-6 loans and 3-4 new faces should bolster it up to the point that
1/2 of them don’t get a game so we send them out on loan. Woolery the first to go to Swindon when Swindon have made it clear they would prefer to buy not loan so whats the fookin point of us loaning out a player who will be the next Mackay ?.
We need 25 players all with a shout of getting a game, period. And loans in ?, let’s look at some of the loans we’ve had over the past few years it’s comical ,,,ffs. The majority tbh don’t give a flying fook, their not because they want to be, because they have to be. Then when we get a half decent loan in remember Albrighton ?, couldn’t get in our side but wins a Prem medal.
Then there’s folk saying “It’s down to what the manager see’s in training”. Football is littered with lazy tvvats in training, players who don’t enjoy it or dont shine like a race horse on the gallops they save it for match day. So to base a team on purely how good they look in traing is utter fookin madness. I can’t imagine Powell been the best trainer but when he produces on the pitch he’s head and shoulders above the rest.

Albrighton was only on loan with us for 4 weeks – in which time he played 4 times, and got injured. Hardly a case of him not getting in the team. Plus, he was released by Villa at the end of that season, so clearly not rated by them.
With Albrighton at Leicester, I think it was just a case of being in he right team at the right time, because he’s no world-beater.
21 July 2017 at 7:04 pm #160550I think Sam Stubbs could step up he looks very goodDid you see him at Southport?. He lost every header to the tall bustling number 9 who apparently was once with Wigan. As soon as Burn started picking him up and later Dunkley, the same player did nowt. Deffo good prospect but also far from being ready for first team action.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!21 July 2017 at 7:13 pm #160551Mandron has gone to Colchester
21 July 2017 at 8:47 pm #160552He will probably score 20+ goals for Colchester this season
21 July 2017 at 9:59 pm #160555Mandron has gone to Colchester2 down 9 to go
21 July 2017 at 9:59 pm #160556He will probably score 20+ goals for Colchester this seasonI very much doubt it

… and if he does, so what>
They are in League Two.
Bogle scored shedfulls in lower divisions.23 July 2017 at 1:32 am #160585a few more out then piley on, probably 5-6 loans and 3-4 new faces should bolster it up to the point that1/2 of them don’t get a game so we send them out on loan. Think our club have been locked in prem mode since relegation and have bought & loaned players like prem clubs. Let’s hope we don’t have too many more comings & goings till end of season.
23 July 2017 at 2:08 am #160589Did the titular SO ever play for us?
I don’t remember ever seeing him so have no idea whether this is a good or bad move. Similar with Mandron and many others, e.g. Say McKay, even though I do recall them playing very short spells.
What an absolute fuck up of a system where we are signing players without giving them a proper chance to have a go and prove themselves.
I wonder how may uncut diamonds are never allowed to shine because of this goddamn awful routine.23 July 2017 at 3:05 pm #160591Do not be surprised if we are saying exactly the same this time next year as we look for promotion from League 2. Seems to be a downward trend and the unthinkable could be possible. Don’t forget the unthinkable has happened before but that was in an upward trend in the days before austerity.
23 July 2017 at 3:38 pm #160593I do think JIMMYC makes a good point there.
The one thing were the club has struggeled since premier league relegation has been with the transfers thing. Initially, and on paper at least, we weren’t too bad. When we brought Holt, Barnett etc in that first summer after going down, you could say they were sensible signings for a club looking to bounce back. OK, Holt never ever got going, but from then on, with one or two exceptions, such as Powell, Grigg Perkins and a few more, it’s been quite shambolic. It’s almost been signings for signings sake, with Joyce making a real mess of things. Though I think Jack Byrne is a good player, and if given a bit of coaching, I think Bogle could come good.
I’m seeing Paul Cook steadying things and building on quality, rather than quantity. The last manager we had do this, Paul Jewell, started us on a magnificent journey, and I am excited by what Paul Cook and his coaching team can achieve here. I’m seeing a freshness, a new zest and desire, a desire that’s been sucked out of the players with previous regimes, and I am looking very forward to this season. We are going to win the league, I’m convinced.
Here’s a treble bet for you. Everton in top 6, Villa to get promoted and Latics to get promoted. That was offering 36-1 last week…even if you are just an occasional gambler, that has to be worth a shot. £20 for me…. the bet has a real chance.
23 July 2017 at 4:05 pm #160594Didn’t go yesterday but went to Southport which have both demonstrated and to be expected that there is very little change. Why and how could this change be when we use the same system that’s brought us to were we are today. When is this reveloutionary change going to kick in?
