Who would you want to replace him? (Not that it’s going to happen, I just wonder what names people will come up with)
Go on, I’m intrigued as to who people will say…….
27 February 2011 at 4:19 pm #60597The word ennui springs to mind on this very trite subject !! :angry-banghead:

27 February 2011 at 5:57 pm #60609Too late now.
If West Ham win against Liverpool we’re rock bottom with little hope (and usually I’m a glass half-full, but I’m also a realist).
Let’s see what next season brings – we have a reasonable Championship squad.
But would we want to get promoted? :?

There’s a financial incentive to get promoted to the Premier League, and we’d miss out on TV revenue if we get relegated.
Think of all the money we’d be spunking on player’s wages in the Championship… although to be fair some of the players would probably look to move away (Rodallega, N’Zogbia definitely). We wouldn’t be able to hold on to Al Habsi as I bet a few PL teams are keeping an eye on him.
Hopefully the players have got some relegation clauses in their contracts which means we won’t have to keep paying top flight wages and do a Hull
27 February 2011 at 7:25 pm #60621Hull had 21000 on yesterday & after a slow start remain just a few places off the play offs.So going down doesnt seem to have been the end of the world to them & their fans are back behind them. Same goes for Burnley & Pompey.Swansea also had a great result playing in a very familiar style yesterday.I wonder what happened to the manager who laid down those roots & changed their playing philosophy is up to now, he might be worth a punt
27 February 2011 at 9:29 pm #60647All them teams have had new managers summat what should have happened here after the spurs drubbing time the clown went back to the circus cos he not a prem manager, excuse’s all the time wearing thin now,but we still get @rse wipes sticking up for him, on ere, even in the championship we be a laughing stock with the clown in charge aswell has our attendences.
27 February 2011 at 11:13 pm #60681Well for a start, you can rule Allardyce out.
He was interviewed on Sky weeks ago, saying he’s keen to get back in the game, but he believes he should only work in the Premiership.
And then a few weeks ago, he actually declined the West Brom job, BEFORE he’d even been approached. He obviously thinks they may go down to the Championship. So it is highly doubtful that Sam Allardyce would come here, given our current situation, anyway.
So that’s one crossed off the list.
And I find it amazing that Chris Hughton’s name has been linked with the job. Not much experience at all.

thank fook for that dont want fat sam
chris hughton contradicts alot of what people on here say
something about not enough experiance(martinez)28 February 2011 at 12:47 am #60708If I was Whelan I’d go for either:
1) A Gerard Houllier and Roy Evans double act, ala Liverpool ’98
2) Is Martin O’Neill too ambitious? I suppose the dark side wouldn’t need to make new banners after a few months of potential bad results. Just wipe the ‘ez’ off the previous banners.
3) Or the wild card, Chris Hutchings anybody?

something about not enough experiance(martinez)[/quote]its got fook all to do with whether or not martinez or anyone else is experienced or not
its down to the fact martinez is clueless -end of.
we as a club are never again going to get a major experienced manager, we always will have to choose someone with little experience and hope it works.

I have a feeling that had you asked this question 3 years ago then the majority vote would have been Mr. R. Martinez

Really i would of though that the ambition of some fans at the cloob would have urged Whelen to go for the likes of Mourinho
