bob says just one more outfield player to come in ?
now i know we have espinoza and enriquez already on board but they dont have enough experience at this level
another one diko back from blackpool but i feel he will be off to palace as replacement for outgoing zaha, hope its not
so the one player to come in as well as the two untried players ,i dont think it will be enough to help us out of this mes4 January 2013 at 12:46 pm #99030And, if anyone comes in at all, it will be a right wing back, mark my words.
Why, when Martinez says we have the best squad he’s ever had here (and he is bob on, see what I did there?) would he suddenly want, and be allowed, to splash daft cash?
This squad (minus Moses) proved what it can do at the back end of last season. It’s about time it started to do it again.
4 January 2013 at 1:16 pm #99032Sneijder is available…
A snip at 200k a week…
4 January 2013 at 1:29 pm #99034agree what you say griff that they should start to perform has they did end of last season
unfortunately sometimes wont work like that
after watching last game some players had a couldn’t be arsed approach or so it seems
still say we need another centre back , definitely someone up front who knows where the net is
enriquez well not too sure but hey give the lad a chance cant be worse than bosseli(can he)
maybe a chance for dicko
and someone to replace boozedupjoe4 January 2013 at 1:34 pm #99035And, if anyone comes in at all, it will be a right wing back, mark my words. Why, when Martinez says we have the best squad he’s ever had here (and he is bob on, see what I did there?) would he suddenly want, and be allowed, to splash daft cash?

Think you may be right…
The lad from Barsnley springs to mind. John Stones.
4 January 2013 at 1:44 pm #99037after watching last game some players had a couldn’t be arsed approach or so it seemsI don’t think that there was any can’t be arsed approach but I think that the players have a major psychological problem when it comes to playing United.
They can go behind to anybody else & still put up a fight & either get back into the game or make a decent fist of it, but on virtually every occasion that they go behind against United, they just seem to see it as game over coz they’ll never get back into it & it leads to the kind of Keystone Cops defending that gave them their 2nd & 4th goals.
I went to the game with my Latics mate & a group of Tyldesley Reds & they all said the same that a) they always seem to get a hatful against us & b) that once the first goal goes in they never seem to have to work hard to score any of the others
i was hoping last season’s victory would have banished that particular ghost but after both games against them this season have taken the same depressingly predictable route, obviously not4 January 2013 at 3:25 pm #99049A new right wing back? Do you have someone in mind?
Boyce is playing well, although Martinez will have to consider a replacement in due course. And Stam has been a good stand-in while Boyce has been in the back three.
That’s not to say that there aren’t better players in the league, but I wouldn’t say that a right wing back is our greatest need at the moment.
However, you don’t always know where the problems are going to occur. I think that Ramis has been an enormous asset this season. With all their injuries to centre backs, I hate to think where Wigan would have been without him.
4 January 2013 at 3:34 pm #99050A new right wing back? Do you have someone in mind? No, although the lad Stones has been mentioned a few times.
Just don’t think that Martinez really fancies Ronnie, nor does he see Boyce as a proper wing-back. Just a hunch, though.
Personally, I;d like to see a striker come in who will guarantee us 10 goals between now and the end of the season and a really creative midfielder who will provide the bullets for him.
Not holding my breath, however.

I also wouldn’t think RWB is our greatest need.
LWB is our greatest need, Beausejour is absolute garbage and I don’t think he wants to put Figgy there.
Also as Griff said, a good striker would be welcomed, lets hope that Henrique guy bangs some in B)
4 January 2013 at 4:21 pm #99054May be a long shot here but I’m hoping recalling Dicko from his loan spell at Blackpool is to offer Palace on loan as part of a deal for Zaha.
Holloway has had both McMannaman and Dicko on loan in the past and we’ve dealt with Palace twice in the past (that I can remember) with deals for Watson and Moses.
Palace are doing really well so I’m sure there’s a few players worth looking at. The 2 that spring to mind though are Zaha and Glenn Murray.
It may however just be a case of adding extra cover to the strikers positions with it looking likely Kone will be going to the African Nations.

I think Zaha is WAYYYYY out of our reach.. But that being said, if he gets told to look at Moses and what he achieved then maybe he could be convinced :) Incredibly unlikely though.
Not seen much of Murray so wouldn’t like to comment.

I didn’t say you was basing your thoughts on what I think Griffamunda. Just thought I was just putting my opinion of what I think our greatest need is out there.
Martinez needs to realise that Fat Jean is our weakest link! ;)
4 January 2013 at 5:27 pm #99059sure i saw something on sky sports were man utd are set to offer eight million for palace starlet zaha this transfer window
so seeing dicko as been recalled then palace just might be set to make us a offer for him as replacement
soon see if dicko gets a game or is on bench in cup then might be he will be given a chance here if not then he is off4 January 2013 at 5:36 pm #99060May be a long shot here but I’m hoping recalling Dicko from his loan spell at Blackpool is to offer Palace on loan as part of a deal for Zaha.Holloway has had both McMannaman and Dicko on loan in the past and we’ve dealt with Palace twice in the past (that I can remember) with deals for Watson and Moses.

No chance of Zaha unfortunately.
We lodged a £3 million bid in the summer which was rejected and batted away with some rather disrespectful comments from their chairman along the lines of “he is worth a lot more than £3 million and he can join a club a lot bigger than the lieks of Wigan Athletic”…
Slightly insulting to question the size of our club when they may as well be our feeder club having sold us Onse Size Fitz Hall, Boycey, Watson & Moses not too long ago.
And as I like to point out to my Crsytal Palace supporting colleague they may not have had a club if we hadnt bought moses for £2 million.
But yeah Man Utd are now favourites to sign Zaha closely followed by Arsenal & Tottenham with a price reckoned to be around the £10 million mark.
My bets he goes to Arsenal for £9 million as he is an Arsenal supporter and they are still sweating over Walcotts contract.
