A little late with regards to Saturdays match but…
WHY are people complaining about certain players but I virtually never hear anyone mention how poor Beausejour is and has been!!
Another shocker vs QPR for him.
People complaining about Kone (Myself included, although it’s mainly his end product that’s lacking for me, and the occasional woeful touch) but he adds miles more to the team than Jean does.
Also still a lot of people using Gomez as a target, it is getting ridiculous, someone sells Gomez short with a pass and some morons jump up abusing Gomez for it! happens all the time, even when Gomez isn’t at fault, and it is ridiculous.
So why, may I ask, when Jean Beausejour makes one of his many wayward passes, crosses or when he stands still and does nothing then proceeds to lose the ball, do these same people, or anybody in fact, make one comment regarding his awful performances!!
Confuses me and also frustrates me! Especially when Gomez has been one of our better players in recent games!
Rant over and will be away until at least tomorrow. B)
12 December 2012 at 2:32 am #97918I made comments with regards some folk in front of me in the east stand who were constantly berating gomez everytime something went wrong, yet when another player made a mistake – nothing. When i made my points they remained quiet for the remainder of the game. If those people use this site & perhaps know who you are – shame on you. EVERY player can be frustrating at times, but to berate a player in the way you did is dispicable. These players are wigan players & we should all be getting behind them.
12 December 2012 at 2:42 am #97920I have said a few times now that he is about as much use as a chocolate teapot !

12 December 2012 at 2:58 am #97923He always gets slated by me and those around me because of exactly that.
Yes, he can put a good ball in every now and again but Ryan Taylor could take a good free kick. Doesn’t mean they should be in the side “just in case”
12 December 2012 at 3:02 am #97927He’s not really hit the highs of last season yet as he also could be due to the fact that other teams are using two players to stop his crosses as it is well known most of our attacks were coming from that side earlier in the season

…
… he plays in McCarthy for the equaliser, Saturday (QPR).
Reading – goal assist (part played in 2 goals), etc. etc.

Stop letting facts get in the way of a good slagging off.
12 December 2012 at 10:32 am #97932Thought he had a good game personally
12 December 2012 at 11:36 am #97935Doesn’t wash with me either.

12 December 2012 at 1:17 pm #97938I was going to post sthg similar tho maybe not quite a slating about JB.
Not all of his game is poor – many of his low and high crosses this season have been peachy and just lacked a striker’s finished. When he runs onto a moving ball he can cut defenders up.
For some reason tho he just can’t defend and if he receives the ball standing still he doesn’t have the quick feet to avoid getting dispossessed.
He’s also not looked the same since his injury.Reckon once Maloney is properly back in the side we’ll start to see the old JB again.
12 December 2012 at 1:48 pm #97940There are a couple of lads that crack me up every home game.
From the first match they have been keeping a tally of how many times Beausejour has beat a man down the wing and got a telling cross in.
They are still on zero.
He seems to have two or three telling ‘good’ moments in a game, but they are massively outwieghed by the very medicore or bad moments.

quote]He really can’t.
I agree with what a few of you say, he can put a good cross in, I even had him in my fantasy league team purely due to the fact he set up quite a few of our goals at the back end of the last season, but his inability to create an opportunity to cross for himself frustrates me. The majority of his crosses are either early crosses or whenever he gets the ball passed to him in space and he doesn’t need to do anything other than cross, he just can’t make the space to cross himself, and if there is a man close he either passes it back, or loses possesion. Needs to sharpen up quite quickly.
