Wigan Athletic are my team…….Wigan Rugby League are my team………………
So whats wrong with that?
I love rugby and I love football…..Is that a sin?…… Is that a crime?
No it is not a crime what so ever. That is your choice and I respect you for that pal but my choice is to hate and despise Wigan Rugby League in the way a Rangers fan would feel about Celtic and how a Rovers fan would feel about Burnley but that is my choice and not everyone would choose that.

Nobody says it is. But to randomy start a thread saying that when nobody has commented on The fat egg chasers, makes you a bit weird :shock:
Anyone who has been a regular throughout Latics league existance will find it hard to ever have anything but hatred for Wigan RL.
It just surprises me that people feel the need to come onto this site and express their love of both teams. To be honest very few people care. I just hope your turrets clears up though !

Not being funny and nor am I insinuating anything. Just wondering, was Wigan Athletic your team in the late 80s or early 90s. When we stood outside Springfield rattling buckets to save us from disaster and the day a Latics day was organised asking Wiganers to turn up to save us, was you one of those within the 1500?
If the answer to those questions is yes, fair enough. But don’t you think calling Wigan One Town when one set of the sporting public are more than willing to watch the other go out if existence is wrong?Late 80s 90s ??? how about mid fookin 70s pal………….Have supported both since then…Dreadlock holiday and all that….Wigan v Port Vale 5:3…Iwas there pal…Forget politics….they are 2 completely different sports ….We should be proud of Wigan for having two big clubs……….People come on here complaining about attendances then in the same breath slag off people who watch Rugby as well…Hardly an invitation welcoming more fans is it…………Its the “we hate rugby crowd” who are mainly responsible for the poor attendances…….If we where “ONE TOWN” attendances would go up substantially…..
In saying that Latics average attendance is about 19% of the population of wigan which is +/- 80k and by comparison Liverpool’s attendance is only 2.3% of the population which is over 2.7m

I’m pretty sure it’s nowhere near that many. Gawd help us if it is.

We’re a nice little team, its just that we’ve chosen to play in the backyard of the biggest Rugby league team in the country/world.

Like you say, 2 different sports. But they’re more than happy to share with Latics when the shoes on the other foot aren’t they? When they’re on the edge, suddenly Latics are more than welcome.

Go to thugby in your Latics shirt. I have been and got ruined.
I’m more concerned about Liverpool and Utd glory hunters than egg chasers not coming to OUR stadium!
