TicTicTic:
So you was there then? Why were you the only one?
Was you there when we played Leeds in FA cup after being snubbed by thugby?
I was.
I hate Lyndsay for that comment and other decisions made around that period, I hated the whole of the corrupt, arrogant board at the time and I hated and still despise the majority of theri support, including many close members of my own family.
But, I still like the sport and the team is my town’s team and I reserve the right to support them at whatever level I like. These days, that happens to be from an armchair, if there is nothing else better going on.
Ticslad………
Move on mate……..so bitter and twisted……….
The town doesnt need people like you holding it back in the Dark ages………If we are ever going to compete with the rest of the Prem and the support that goes with it then people like you need to get a grip and move on with the times…….Support Wigan…Support ONE TOWN!
Asking me to support a club who were willing to watch my club rot is a no go, sorry.
Why did we not exist before 1995? Please tell me, why were we getting 1500 fans and the rugby 15000? There was no hatred until we were made the but of jokes, yet those people still chose to stay away.
On the DW, there is nothing to stop a rugby fan going. Chants about rugby ceased in 1995. Let’s remember, more Wiganers watch Wigan Athletic than Wigan Rugby now, that’s how much people are bothered.
A lot of Wiganers are glory hunters, people who choose to go out of town to support others. Do you think my hate of Man Utd would stop them attending a Latics v Man U match?
No matter how long ago, Wigan rugby as a club and it’s fans were happy to see us unable to pay players wages. The fans could afford Wembley almost every year, but couldn’t spare a couple of quid in our hour of need.
you know what i say pay the rent or fook off to leigh or bolton or chorley where most of the chubbies come from ,ok all together now in a very high pitched girlie voice like they do(the chubbies) at our stadium wigan wigan wigan wigan wigan wtfks that about .
Please tell me, why were we getting 1500 fans and the rugby 15000? The fans could afford Wembley almost every year, but couldn’t spare a couple of quid in our hour of need.
Ok, now I’m confused as to the direction your hatred is cast….
Population of Wigan in 1995: 80,000
Population of Wigan who attended Latics games in 1995: 1500
Population of Wigan who did not attend: 78500
Population of Wigan in 1979: 80,000
Population of Wigan who attended Latics games in 1979: 8000
Population of Wigan in 2005: 80,000
Population of Wigan who attended Latics games in 2005: 18000
Population of Wigan who attended a rugby game in 1995: 8000. (Based on the “fact” that 40% come from outside Wigan.
So your bile is directed at 8000 Wiganers, some of whom probably watched the football in 1995 too, but not at the “missing” 6500 that attended in 1979/80/81/82 etc, nor those 16500 that developed a love of all things football in 2005, but couldnt be arsed ten years previous. Nor is it aimed at the 60,000+ who have not bothered attending either sport over a 30 year period.
To stop your confusion. I despise the egg chasers. Ever since they **** on us from a great hight.
Take a look at the Chubbies message board. Lets remember, this isnt just football fans, the chubbies take delight when we lose. The 9-1 defeat to Spurs, nothing else was on the chubster board.
But as I say, it has nothing to do with that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGEpJ7oUzaE
Any how, were Wigan Athletic, a Premiership football club in our own right. Blow the egg chasers, no need for them on this board and certainly no need for them at our ground.
They do contribute towars our bills though and the sales of pies at a rugby match mean they are just about worth having as tennants.
The t1t-for-tat nonsense does my head in. There will always be a number of fans from either side who poke fun when the other loses, hypocritical of either team’s fans to have a go at the other for that.
How can people get so upset about what some nob said in the 80s ffs, it’s ancient history
As it happens, I like the rugby too. Neither team will ever get consistant high crowds because of their own petty differences, that’s the biggest tragedy of all.
Another thing about being a ONE TOWNER is you can watch Wigan all year round…..and get an extra chance of going to Wembely……….
She wore She wore She wore a cherry ribbon…..She wore a cherry ribbon in the merry month of May……..and when i asked her why she wore that ribbon she said it was for wigan and where going to wembely………..WEMBELY WEMBELY WHERE THE FAMOUS WIGAN RUGBY AND WHERE GOING TO WEMBELY……..
