Sheff Utd away that last game of the season was as good as it’s ever got for me, including all promotions. Immense.
14 February 2013 at 6:56 pm #103361Being at Highbury when Jason slotted home.!!!
14 February 2013 at 8:58 pm #103365It has got to be Roberts at Highbury, the drama of the match, penalty claims, penalty save, Van Persie, Henry, the Arsenal ole’s then the lofted ball, Scharner leaving it for Roberts to slot home, the run behind the nets, the celebrations under Highbury’s floodlights, then it hits you, that one moment, no penalties, we’d won!
You really needed to be there.
14 February 2013 at 9:22 pm #103366I posted this on a similar thread three years ago and it still holds true:-
So many but here’s a few of mine.
Championship against Reading 2005
No need to explain thatThose home games against Norwich and Hull in 1987 which saw us get to the quarter-final of the FA Cup and lose to Leeds.
How did Bobby Campbell miss that header?Freight Rover Final against Brentford 1985
We played them off the park when everyone else including Screen Sport – who did the TV coverage – thought we were there to make up the numbers.FA Cup against Birmingham 1978
Although we lost 4-0 we played some great football which won us lots of votes and got us elected to the league.FA Cup against Man City 1971
Fairytale stuff which nearly, but not quite, came true.15 February 2013 at 12:35 am #103373maloneys strike against utd last season -nothing can ever beat that feeling for me!
15 February 2013 at 12:47 am #103375The last ever night in the old springfield park supporters club
16 February 2013 at 3:01 am #103398Great thread Ace.
As the question is which moment would you want AGAIN then I’d like to have that Roberts goal at Highbury please, but this time I’m not leaving 10 minutes before the end
16 February 2013 at 5:25 am #103400Our 1st prem game v chelski
So I believe ;)
16 February 2013 at 2:14 pm #103406I can also remember taking a spade and digging under the concrete fence to nick in then hiding the spade and covering up the evidence for the next game. Also we took a ladder to get over ,times where hard in the mid seventies but great memories.
16 February 2013 at 3:13 pm #103409So many on the field as many have mentioned but my personal favorite as ive said before has got to be seeing the team climb the Wembley steps and picking up the Freight Rover Trophy.Baking hot day and to see the club lift its first Wembley success was one of the best moments of my life.
18 February 2013 at 12:14 am #103499Given everything we’ve achieved as a club, one moment is probably impossibe.
There are far too many1. Reading 05
2. JRs goal at Highbury.
3. Charlie’s winner v West ham
4. Arry De Zeeuw launching Ronaldo the week after he took the P**s in the carling cup final. It showed the spirit of Jewell’s team and very much said don’t do that again!
5. Paul Rogers strike for little ol wigan against mighty Millwall and their 50,000 fans at Wembley.
Plus many many more from great away days and proud performences.

There’s quite a few of those videos link to other major moments in our history. Should keep you entertained for a while.
18 February 2013 at 11:41 am #103541As well as the ones mentioned, these 3 spring to mind for me.
1. The first half demolition of Newcastle at home last season.Arguably the finest 45 minutes we have played in this league so far.
2. Maurice Whittles free kick against Sheff Weds in 1977 to put us into the 3rd round of the FA Cup.
3.And possibly my favourite. Good Friday 1979.Home to Port Vale 3-0 down with 20 mins to go.McNeill takes off Noel Ward for Derek Brownbill so we have 3 strikers on the pitch. And we go on to win 5-3 with Peter Houghton getting a hatrick. Absolutely brilliant. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
