Never seen a professional team concede a goal like their second, from that corner. Ball swung in, Bamford stabbing at it, and literally walking the ball into the net, despite there being two defenders and a goalkeeper on the line.
1. The goalie was piss poor, not enough aggression..was half hearted.
2. How did they swing a corner in and it get straight to Bamfords feet? Awful defending, that.
3. The two defenders were weak and not hard enough. One of them should have been whacking at that ball and launching it, and Bamford, into the East Stand.
Sorry but it was terrible. The keeper has no command of his area or six yard box. And in my opinion, Jamie Jones is a better keeper. We thought Walton didnt command his area enough…he was better at it than Marshall.
Our back line is one that will see us relegated this season. Two goals conceded again that were typical concedes of a team thats in trouble. And we are.
I haven’t seen a goal like their second since my son played under 7’s football. I agree with what you are saying. We dont have any leaders nor anyone who seems to want to fight. Jamie Jones is someone who commands his area. We are only 3 games in, but this does definitely need sorting NOW!!

Conceding goals from defendable situations within your six yard box is shocking at any level. How did Bamford manage to score when we had a keeper and two defenders there? I’d have them in today, going ballistic about it. Absolute shithouses.
But no. Focus is on the sending off, and no doubt the excuse will be that we were down to ten men. Rubbish. Ten men or not, we can’t defend. And have nothing going forward. Ok, we have a decent, tall target man now, winning flick ons to…nobody, because he is on his own. Shit tactics, shit formation. And unless he changes things, and bloody fast, I hope he gets sacked. Byrne? Shite, not good enough. Massey not good enough either, and Dunkley and Fox arent instilling me with any confidence. Robinson looks great one minute, shite the next. Yes..its the manner of the goals we are conceding. Ralls…from a fumbled shot and non clearance, Bogle from terrible marking, first Preston was from a corner,from edge of 6 yard box, second Preston goal was an unmarked header from a cross…bad defending. Stokes goal was again, a header from practically on our goal line. Yesterdays goals were walk ins in six yard box.
Only Preston’s third was an unstoppable strike, by Gallagher. A great strike.
But the goals we are conceding really, really worry me. If a team score a good goal against us, I will applaude it. But these are schoolboy goals we are conceding…in fact my lads U11’s team wouldnt concede goals like this. These are professional footballers on thousands a week to play for our club. Do they give a shit? No, not as much as us, the supporters. Its just a job to them, lets face it

The men at fault for that goal are surely the man marking Bamford and the man on the front post. Not sure what Marshall can do with the ball being run at him like a scrum down when he has no momentum. Made a fantastic save for first goal only for no defenders to be marking man on rebound. You are a keeper. You launch yourself the ball, and also knock f***ing Bamford ten feet out of the way. You flatten your own defenders if you have to! It was piss poor.

It’s come at speed into the box at his centre halves feet who has Bamford right up his arse and both have walked it into the net. How the fuck could Marshall have stopped from a standing start two blokes of 13-14 stone travelling at that velocity when he couldn’t even see the ball. As I said it’s like trying to stop a scrum. His own centre half is in front of him not Bamford. To be fair we wouldn’t have scored if we were still playing tonight with 10 men so the goals largely irrelevant but think we are looking at scapegoats blaming Marshall yeaterday.
