It’s come at speed into the box at his centre halves feet who has Bamford right up his arse and both have walked it into the net. How the fuck could Marshall have stopped from a standing start two blokes of 13-14 stone travelling at that velocity when he couldn’t even see the ball. As I said it’s like trying to stop a scrum. His own centre half is in front of him not Bamford. To be fair we wouldn’t have scored if we were still playing tonight with 10 men so the goals largely irrelevant but think we are looking at scapegoats blaming Marshall yeaterday.

Blaming Marshall…and the defenders. It was a piss poor goal to concede…one of the worst I have ever seen, actually.

Our defending is shockingly bad, it really is. If you disagree, thats uour choice. But I’m not impressed at all with this keeper.

Byrne is probably still applying Germoline this morning, to the new arsehole he was torn on Saturday. Dunkley is league one, Fox…jury is out, and Robinson is erratic.

We move on to Tuesday and Boro getting their first win of the season against us.

What a difference a couple of matches make, this is what annoys me about our fans. After the transfer window dealings and then the Cardiff game everyone and I mean everyone on here, were wetting themselves. Two league defeats later and we are a pile of shyte. As a few of us said before game 1, it may take several games before the side sorts itself out, plus we already have 2 players out who would have played Saturday.
Yes the defending was awful for that second goal but the damage was already done by then it had no bearing on the result. I thought the lads battled hard with 10 men against a strong Leeds team. That’s what I took from the game not one moment of madness when the game was already lost.

Queens of over reaction. If before season most on here were offered 3 points they would have said an OK start given we have played 2 of the 3 promotion favourites. After Cardiff blokes were putting money on play offs I recall, Vat was saying its the best transfer window in years, Jamal Lowe was our saviour and Charlie Mulchay a steal. Now after one awful performance at Preston and a game against the best team in league with 10 men we are going down and Cook should be sacked. How long have some of you supported us? Guess what. I don’t wanna spoil the inevitable but we probably wont finish in the top half this season I would guess. We wont be anywhere near the play offs and at times will flirt with relegation. If you expected differently I’m unsure why!

Not to mention that the same Mulgrew that Blackburn “didn’t want” was their captain in their opening game.

From what I’m reading, nobody is over-reacting. But more simply, the OP by vat was simply focusing on our defending – which so far has been shocking. We have conceded a lot of soft goals so far & it was the same last season. It is not that any of defenders are any good. But NONE of them are leaders.

I’ve said it before, but the last time I saw a goal scored like that was when my son played under 7’s football. In 41 years of watching professional football, I have never seen a goal like that EVER!

I’m with vat on this one. No matter who is coming at you at speed or slow motion, a goalkeeper should be commanding his area & throwing himself onto that ball no matter who he knocks out the way.

Have we still got a defensive coach? Because if we haven’t, we need to employ one.

And not to mention the teams we have played Preston never easy for any team at Deepshit and 2 of the favourites for promotion. Let’s see how we perform against the lesser lights before we judge. COYL

No overreacting from me, I am merely commenting on what I have seen. And that is we are struggling to defend, for whatever reason.

Jrfatfan is right though. Cardiff had a lot of us overconfident and thinking we are better than we are. PNE was the wake up call, Leeds, referee apart, just reinforced that. Perhaps we couldve got a draw, had we still had 11 men.

But no overreacting. The goals we are conceding are poor, from within 18 yards of our goal, and we are struggling with balls into our box. Thats fact, not overreaction.

On the question of your overreactions, aside from perhaps the leniency shown towards some of the challenges on Moore, I don’t know what major decisions the referee got wrong that would make you arrive at the conclusion he was the “Worst referee ever”?

Our defending has been dreadful and I haven’t been as impressed with Marshall as I was expecting to be aside from Saturday, but I think it is very very harsh (especially as an ex GK) to put the blame at his feet for either goal.

Think you are getting confused. My comments were about the shocking defending.

Thw ref was shite though. Please dont try and say opposite.

In fairness to vat it seems our defending let’s us down yet again.

Not sure it’s simply defending. Keeper didn’t have a save to make and that’s 3 out of 3 games we haven’t scored. Moore out now with Lang only fit striker.

Great marking again from Cedric for their goal. As I’ve said a million times he is hopeless at picking up. He is at least 6″ taller than Assembalonga and got mullered. We outplayed Boro for most of that game and that one thing has lost us the game.
