Just seen that Wrexham have signed Matty James and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson on short term contracts as free agents.
James is ex Leicester and Bristol City, I think. At 33, an experienced head to bring into their squad.
Bodvarsson needs no introduction, having been at Bolton. He’s exactly the type of striker we lack, tall and a handful.
Honestly, I give up with how our club is being ran. Just give us half a chance, Danson. Then again, any manager worth their salt would be knocking at the boardroom door saying “I need some help here, some backing”.
As each day goes by, I feel more distant from this shitshow. It can’t go on. Attendances are rapidly dropping. Wiganers lost will be hard to attract back.
I have no idea these days who we are playing and when. I always knew the games coming up and relished them. The interest has gone. It feels like we are just existing and there is no real drive or ambition. Is there any?
That’s nothing to do with with the recruitment team absolutely nothing. I’m 100% we’ve looked and enquired at loads of players like this older out of contract players.
Our problem is
Wage restriction budget
If your owner won’t back the manager what chance have you?. This is why we have a bunch of young lads on low wages.
Massive signs now that this policy is going to produce lower home crowds and eventually league 2 football , slippery quick fire decline unless this policy is reversed and quick !
i just cannot see the sense of it , clubs at EFL level are not self sufficient and arguably have never been so unless you are a club like Bradford with 18,000 every other week at home or a club with parachute payments.
I keep reading on here about tactics etc but the problems are much deeper than that in my opinion.

Look,
We owe alot to Danson for stopping us going into administration and I think this time another admin would have seen us off so regardless of were were at or going it’s far better than been Bury or playing Daisy hill in the 10th tier.
Danson took on and self funded a stupid wage bill for 12 months and he did it out his own pocket.
Am I defending him ? no I’m stating facts, without him we’d be sat in a sea of diarrhea with a pencil as an oar.
His accountants will have weighed up the cost before he bought us for the coming 12 month period till all those top earners f**ked off which thank God they have and id like bet that was near the £10million mark.
Cutbacks throughout the club were badly need with a shoestring budget to follow. Chaps it’s fact, were no sleeping giant like a Leeds, Sheffield Weds, Sheffield Utd or a Derby sat in L1 the fact is if we topped the Championship on a very good day we’d have 15k-16k and that would be including 5.5k away fans.
The revenue we generate just isn’t there we don’t appeal to big sponsors and our merchandise probably cost more to make than we get back in sales.
Guys it’s fact, we’re a small club with a stupid sized ground that in today’s day n age cost Prem money to daily run. It might have been cheap in Whelan’s day to run but not now and it needs millions spent on it.
It’s the truth so we’re going to have to spend a good few years suffering and praying for an up turn. My only gripe is, Danson knew all this and investment would be needed but reality is, he’s trying to sort out years of massive f**k ups by 2 bellend owners.
Me? seriously I don’t give a flyers about the stadium, even West Ham City don’t own there’s. We have a lease to play there via the council when they granted Whelan permission to build on that land.
Rugby ? f**king have it I say it would be a massive weight off our shoulders and by all accounts it’s been put in a separate holding account someone might want to clarify that.
So we’re so we go from here ?, who knows and it’s hard to stomach but the truth is as fans we need a huge reality check, were we are and without Danson we we’d be.
Yes I want him to go:-
Hey Shaun! there’s £5million there pal, go get some players” but truth is that just isn’t gonna happen.
As a life long fan It’s a tough one to swallow, really tough but my one thought is that makes me think yeah he saved us thanks but……..
Danson’s a multi billionaire rain check “Billionaire”.
Now to anyone who’s unsure as to the significant difference between being a multi millionaire and a multi billionaire take this to bed with you:-
“A million seconds is about 11.5 days, while a billion seconds is about 31 years and 8 months”
My point is Danson spending £5million is like me spending £20 on a round.
Danson?, your not getting any younger and you can’t take it with you so slacken the private purse strings pal and have some fun with it, you never know you just might enjoy the trip like Big Dave did and stop been a tight arse.
or,
At least open up another turnstile up in the West so I’m not queuing round the block freezing my old knackers off when there’s only f**kin 7000 on

And then there was one!! Stones now on loan at Oldham again leaving us with 1 recognised striker. Never played in a way that utilises his skillset so been hung out by Maloney. 2nd half Blackpool, Stockport were perfect examples when we needed a physical outlet to relieve the pressure……but as usual bypasses him end up with Taylor burned out and candy floss Aasgaard to try that role….no wonder we lost a 2 goal lead. Another example of tin pot management.
You watch Stones bang in the goals at Oldham, while we carry on firing blanks.
Tbh it will all be about how he’s used. Stones to me looks like a player find find in the box like Wyke. Players are geared to look for him. If that’s the case then I can see why not.
Unlike us who preferred to bring on Sibbick instead of him. He’s 21 so he’s alot to learn, granted both Taylor and Hugill aren’t firing (Hugill constantly injured) so you would have thought Stones would have got more match time but Maloney has smashed this lads confidence to pieces.
If I were Stones I’d be looking to leave even with 20 month to go, Maloney prefers the headless chicken forward. So if Hugills injured we’ll have Taylor and Aasgaard.
Got to navigate November then a busy Christmas period with 1 (flakey) striker. Stones ditched so either our wingers start doing a Humphreys and cutting in from the flanks and smashing goals in( no F%%%%%%% chance) or Taylor suddenly becomes a penalty box poacher(possible with the right type of service). Trouble is we have no one at all to hold the ball up and as we’ve seen all season we just invite pressure until something gives. A mate said ” we just need to pick up points until we can get a couple forwards in January “……I pissed myself……talk about a reality check!!!….Have some not twigged yet that Maloneys body language is that of a manager who’s had the financial rug ripped from under him. F%%% me more chance of losing Tickle/Aasgard for a pittance than that happening !!!!!
You know what, I’d agree with Maloney to send Stones out if we had 2 fit firing strikers and he couldn’t get in but we don’t. What we have is, 2 forwards, 1 constantly injured and the other who’s missed a few golden chances.
Is Stones ready?, no definitely not but with a lack of funds and 2 non firing forwards and one knackered it was the perfect opportunity to start using him more. As I said, Maloney doesn’t like him the time he replaced Taylor with Sibbick was an insult.
I remember a similar thing happening when we were in the shit in Admin and we sent Lang out on loan at the time, a low earner when he was desperately needed.
Look I’m fully aware we can’t throw all the academy kids in there has to be a blend but when the owner says the onus will be put in bringing our own through I’m left scratching my head and why?
Well
We’ve an army of young average on loan players come in all gaining valuable experience while 3 players I’ve seen young Millar Payne Stones are all frozen out and by all accounts there’s another 2 or 3 knocking on the door.
Now we’ve a choice here
With no money do we keep bringing in others clubs average teenagers so they can gain experience and raise their stock value
Or
Do we use our own young lads and give them experience they desperately need ?. No one on this planet can tell me some of those young loanees that have come in are any better than our own of a similar age.
Then there’s the argument, would another manager do better with the current crop?, I’d be confident placing a bet on a different manager wouldn’t let Stones go out on loan when the 2 you’ve got are
p!ss poor average
