15 September 2016 at 11:27 am #150759Last night was disappointing as was saturday. But to say someone is suicidal after 6 games goes way beyond belief. We struggled this time last season, we are doing it again this. But give people a chance. Did folk on here expect us to storm the league.
Runcorn, the suicidal comment was a tongue in cheek quip. What I’m really concerned with is the apparent lack of respect the manager is showing to the squad who got him in this division. We have brought in players who at present are not as good as some of those who have departed either permanent or loaned out. Also he doesn’t seem to know his best team or even what position some of the squad are best suited in. In Div 1 we got away with a rebuild I but I am not confident we will get away with it in this division. This is not WAFC like, and its the old adage “If its not broke don’t fix it” I think Gary has needlessly put himself under a lot of pressure I just hope he comes out on top.
15 September 2016 at 11:39 am #150760As I have said all along this should have been sorted mid July. When the season starts it is business time and not experimental time.
Friendlies are for experimenting and gelling not the season.15 September 2016 at 3:53 pm #150761I didn’t enjoy last season as much as some but we bought for that division and got out, no problem with that.
This season, up to and including the Birmingham game, I thought we’d be steady, I was actually enjoying the football being played. Then came the wholesale changes, loans out, loans in etc and I honestly now couldn’t tell you who will play or in some cases who that person playing is! Then we’re being the masters of our own downfall with this passing it out from the back. Bogdan’s error has been coming for weeks, understand we don’t have the players to play this way at the back.15 September 2016 at 4:16 pm #150762Reading Caldwell comments in the post that he thought bogdans touch for the goal was a fine touch,if thats the case we are in trouble
16 September 2016 at 12:46 pm #150763The Blackburn game feels like it was years ago , I was hopeful now a different story I think GC has panicked in the market and all the changes week in week out are not helping, now all the problems are of his making .I hope he learns from the errors he’s done because this is the best job as manager he’ll ever get.
Is he out of his depth in the Championship possibly all I know , his time at this club is fast coming to an end if results continue like they are ,he’s loosing the fans at a rapid rate.16 September 2016 at 1:19 pm #15076416 September 2016 at 2:01 pm #150766Reading Caldwell comments in the post that he thought bogdans touch for the goal was a fine touch,if thats the case we are in troubleThis coming from one of the most calamitous players ever to grace a football pitch! ;)

Nuneaton, i know your comment was tongue in cheek. But IMO, people are getting way too hysterical – considering what stage of the season we are at. I dont think caldwell knows his best 11 yet – which was so reminiscent at this stage last season.
I understand the comment about “if it aint broke, dont fix it”. But caldwell bought players who he thought would be good for this division & got rid off those he thought wouldn’t be suited to this level. Whether they are or not, time will tell.
I will be at the game tomorrow (all being well), so perhaps i can make better judgement afterwards & maybe see where you are all coming from, or whether most are fretting over nout.
16 September 2016 at 5:05 pm #150768Could understand the wholesale changes in players last season and i thought some of them players were bought with the future in mind. Colclough & Morsey were supposed to be the best in that league so i can’t understand some of this seasons transfers myself.
The team needed strengthening for sure, mainly in defence & support for Grigg up front. But i wasn’t expecting the amount of signings to be honest. Thinks GC has done a bit of a Brendan Rogers where he’s bought too much and now doesn’t know his best team.
17 September 2016 at 11:52 am #150778Jimmyc has hit the nail on the head.
I cannot understand the transfers especially moving out of those young promising guys and bringing in loanees whom are certainly no better and probably more expensive.
That’s the managers fault, but I also think the players are letting us down in game.
Whats happened to Bogan whenever he played for Bolton he was great, for us crap…spy in the camp?
And another thing last home game, it was stupid having Garbutt take that edge of box free kick…a rightsided loanee back getting sway over Gomez whom would have been ideally set. Ridiculous.17 September 2016 at 9:27 pm #150788It is going to have to kick start the season Ali. Are you and are Claude going or boycotting the ridiculous match day price at Deep Shit?
Robbing Nob End gits!!!!19 September 2016 at 1:11 am #150823Aye Donny, missed Fulham cos ironically I was in that bubble, called London.
Last time me and Claude went to Knob End we missed JR’s goal, cos we wish interviewed by Chris Kanara !
Hopefully I’ll get on before we score. 3 – 1 again will do !19 September 2016 at 3:11 am #150824Good times then when we were on the up and playing great positive football. What a side with Ellington Roberts Teale Bullard to mention a few. The backbone of the side that were promoted and shown faith after promotion from league one.
Stuck in traffic on Blackpool Road while the Old Bill marched masses of Latics fans from the shit hole town centre of Nob Land. -
