I would be really excited about this rumour had it come from anywhere else but the Sun I think there is more chance of us being taken over by the Chinese than this being true. Milwall want 2 mill for Gregory which apparently we are not prepared to meet so cannot see us paying another million on top for Bamford. Hope I’m way off the mark.
He has proven his worth in the Championship with a successful loan spell at Middlesborough two years ago. Last season, despite Boro being interested in signing him, he decided to take a punt on loan to a premier league club. Unfortunately, he flopped at both Palace & Norwich.
Maybe he’s young enough to get better, but right now he’s one of those players who is not top flight material. That said, he’d be a good signing for a newly promoted championship club, as he has experience of playing at this level.
This has popped up on a few transfer rumour sites but he is worth more than our offer so need to offer more I feel! He has to be worth around £4m surely!

To be fair, it’s not a lot more in real terms than what we forked out for the likes of Ellington and Roberts all those years ago.
