No possibly about it Mr Egg, he is definitely the best manager we have ever had.

PJ had the purpleist of purple patches at WAFC no doubt and he couldn’t do no wrong but he also had uncle Dave backing him to the hilt. Pre the Whelan period Gordon. Milne and Ray Mathias were pretty special guys at the helm.

Watched us since we got in the league so even though I don’t remember much of those early years, Ian McNeill has to go down as one of the best managers we ever had….forget Dave Whelan’s, Larry Lloyd’s etc, everything we’ve been privileged to see, especially those games we will never forget were made possible by his team getting us into the Football League. Know Gordon Milne is hugely respected by those who saw his teams and as for Ray Mathias, he did an unbelievable job in the 80’s, then lead us to Wembley and almost the play-off final in 99….on top of that, he is an absolute gentleman.

Of course, none of that in any way takes away from the wonderful job Paul Jewell did for us, never did we think that we would play against the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Spurs etc in a league fixture or get to a major cup final, yet he made that happen.
