Because we won on Saturday, I noticed a load of smirking and people getting all cocky again. Doesn’t take much, does it? Let’s have it right, West Ham were below par, and we, although slightly improved, were not much better.
The match was scrappy and could have gone either way. If they’d scored first, they’d have won. Yes, I think we had improvement in our performance, but I was still alarmed at people getting cocky about it.
For Christ’s sake, calm down, and let’s not go over the top!
Arsenal and Chelsea next, and I’ll be very surprised if we get anything from either game. Our next chance of points is against Hull, and then after that we have City.
I suggest people don’t get carried away, just yet. As if and when we are getting beat, it won’t be taken as hard.

I have not witnessed any smirking or read any posts where people have got carried away. All I have seen and heard is the silent, reasonable majority telling people such as yourself to “stop bloody moaning”

to get carried away is what supporting a team is all about,it must be one hell of a waste of 90 minutes in your case.

I just see football for what it is these days.
A joke. So far removed from reality.
That’s why I go the game, watch it, don’t shout, don’t sing, I will clap, but I don’t get carried away, or worked up, balling and shouting.
What’s the point? Will the referee or player actually turn round, stop, and shout “Hey you there, yes, your right”.
Balls.

Know wonder the DW is like a grave yard I thought the idea of being a fan was to get carried away and shout and ball and sing in support of your team?

You’ve disappointed me there Dave, I thought you were one of the old school of nutters k like me, who go mental at the ref/linesmon ala Golly at Springy.

Mate, I used to. But what’s the point? Does it make any difference?
I used to go apeshit more than anybody. I also remember singing (by myself) “Tony Ellis……yer a wan*er, yer a wan*er!” at Springfield, and he was right on the touchline. He waved his arm around as if to say ‘carry on’, LOL!
I also once chucked some chips at a referee……..from the Family Enclosure. The soft git reported it to the Police, as well, and I spent the rest of the game dodging them.
I’ve gone absolutely ballistic, many a time. But I won’t now. Why get myself so stressed that I have an heart attack?
I’ve learned to calm down as the players, management, or the referee will not pay any attention.
