According to reports in Spain today, we may be nearing the signing of Piscu.

    Here’s a word-perfect translation for you!

The saga of Adrian Lopez ‘Piscu’ may be about to open a new episode of tension. It seems that the Wigan Athletic may have decided to formalize his hiring, and even having taken steps to become central to the transfer of As Pontes. Augusto César Lendoiro has made clear that will do everything in their power to prevent this happening, considering the legitimate and valid contract renewal exerted by the sport through an agreement between SLA and LFP.

Under that agreement, the market price would Piscu 1.5 million, but the player’s agent Eugenio Botas, interprets that only applies to Spanish joint. If so, sport would not receive a single euro if the defense ends up playing the Premier League. The claim-white policy, in any case, compensation for a player trained professionally in A Coruña.

Not disputing the validity of this story at all, but is it just me that thinks it strange that Swindon appears to be the only person in the UK who is following? Not seen anything at all about it in the UK media.

Maybe if it said “Swansea City schemer*, Lionel Messi…” it might get some column inches.

      * always like that term, “schemer”. Puts me in mind of Colin Bell, etc

Our media clearly don’t have enough of a grasp of Spanish like me  – apart from Graham Hunter of course who has carved himself a little niche out in Espana.

I’ll be appearing on Revista La Liga next ;)

Depor Piscu enrolled in dorsal 25, but the player did not appear to understand that his contract had expired. The central training with Wigan, but has not yet been registered. Nebot Santiago, head of legal services of the AFE, the SER said that he believes is right Piscu “contract ended, he was free and can sign with any team. There is an LFP-AFE agreement which provides that if a player under 24 years is gone, there is a compensation for his club (Deportivo requests 1.5 million). The agreement is valid for Spain, but if you go abroad, there is no agreement. ”

Nebot goes a bit further: “Who has to decide is FIFA. The fight is whether the agreement relates to foreign clubs, but I think not. However, Depor could go to court.”

Unlike Simon Howarth, I reckon this one will run and run ;)
