And that I’m afraid was it. Totally outplayed and 73% possession for the opposition shows that. Defensively we seem to be solid, midfield non existant and the sames goes up top. Thelos piss poor header going wide until deflected in. Sorry to disagree with some comments I heard after that Rankine was good…….seen 3 games and so far he’s beaten his man 3 times…..takes the easy option most times.Adeeko struggling to input anything and Hugill certainly gives it his all but the service is poor. Keep rabbiting on about Smith but it’s glaringly obvious…….he’s always 25 yards too deep……picking the ball up on the edge of the penalty area is a waste ….he turns and he’s then got 0 creative options ahead…..it should be HIM that in the advanced midfield position waiting to collect. A huge 7 days ahead for the club…we have to get 3 or 4 experienced players and if the the cheque book remains closed then it’s a bottom 4 fight till May.

Welcome three points yesterday ,said before the game I don’t care how we get them but we have to win this game. Crawley had a massive amount of possession and apart from a free header they should really have scored from and a goal mouth scramble that could have gone anywhere we held out fairly comfortably. Our defence is definitely our strong point , we have a great captain in Jason Kerr and for me he was man of the match yesterday not just for his defensive qualities but also for driving the team on .
Was a guest in hospitality and I was alarmed by the sombre mood up there and lack of other Companies and other guests. Apparently they have hiked the prices up massively this season .Wonder if that is just for Latics or for the Warriors as well because it was clear that a lot of the tables had already been prepared for the Warriors game today . A total lack of enthusiasm up there , will be glad to return to my normal seat with a pie and a bovril .

I’m lost for words as to how dysfunctional we are as a footballing side.
We’ve a midfield I’m still trying to suss out who, when, were, why. Widemen scared to take on players on and a forward who’s not ready.
Were was Stones ? was he injured ?

Yeah, returned home in a sombre mood. It was hardly a convincing win and if we don’t improve it is definitely going to be a long, long season. Let’s see what happens before 23:00 hours on Friday night; and let’s hope it’s not more out than in !
Our back four looked steady enough for this division and Kai Payne looked to be a good prospect; the remainder were not good enough for the long slog that is in front of us

As for the club; why is it that there appears to be a high turn over of general staff, i.e. groundsmen, admin & facilities management. Not a happy ship, is it !

I see Maloney dropped Stones out the squad against Crawley stating that Stones needed to work harder to get back into contention.

Back? what does he mean back ? he’s never really been in to be left out.

What I’ve seen so far is a lad brought on with 15-20 to go and asked to blast directly at the defenders at a 120mph while they simply pass it back and forth grinning like Cheshire cats. Stones is legging it round like a headless chicken bombing it like an idiot in the hope he can nick the ball (very rarely happens) but instead he simply just burns himself out like a fool.

What should be happening is, our midfield and widemen should be creating opportunities for him and he can focus all his energy into trying to score goals not chasing lost causes.

In 50 years of watching football I never seen any forward who can chase stupid hopelessly around at full pelt for the full 90 minutes but I think Maloney thinks thats Stones’s and Hugills roll with is utter utter bollocks.

Clever forwards conserve their energy and pick and choose the right moment to close the opposition defenders down but if your instructed to hopelessly leg it directly at them hoping the f*CK up then Stones will never be selected, he’ll simply gas out in 15mins.

I understand work hard off the ball but rule (1) not on your own do it as a team.

I remember a daft EFL trophy game a while back were Cze and Stones were brought on and they played off each other and to be honest they partnered up well and you could see an instant understanding and connection but that’s the only time they’ve been paired. When I say paired I mean playing 1-2’s off each other not 40 yard apart.

I’m 10000% convinced we’ll see some big daft 34+ year old lump come hold up forward come in before the window shuts and Stones banished to a loan move.

Im not sure why Stones isn’t been given a proper chance, he needs a run of games to get match fit and gain some experience, I honestly just don’t get it.

And before anyone pops up with a “He’s not good enough” remark, he’s our player, he’s very young, he needs the opportunity and experience I’m sure he would grow into that roll. Right now we’ve one young lad Hugill and it’s not happening for him. I’d like bet he’s a clause we’re he has to play X amount of games.

But not under Maloney he wont

Hardest position (No 9) to fill in any squad. But not for the Tics because we don’t use them; and if we sign Haaland it wouldn’t be any different because we still wouldn’t pass to him.

Our last few strikers have been awful Wyke Magennis and the all time worse player ever to wear the shirt Fletcher.

There’s nothing wrong with not using a striker that’s if your in the top 4 in the Prem. At our level it’s borderlining on the insanity if he thinks we’ve a group of midfielders who’ll get us the goals to stop up.

Maloney has no choice but to get this lot winning no ifs buts when’s weres or whys he has to simply get a tune out of this lot, there’s no point in him complaining he has to crack on and if he can’t ?

Julius Agahowha might compete for that shirt with Fletcher

Close call but I’ll personally have to side with fletcher. Agahowha was up against Prem defenders trying to score in the top league while Fletcher ??

Just heard my prediction has come true Stones has basically gone for good off on loan to Oldham so that’s the last we’ll see of him as his contract ends 2025.

Expect some aging 34 year old upteen injuries on £250 a week arriving before the window closes

                #203579

Maybe Gelhardt back on loan ?

If that news accurate concerning Stones then our great future goalscoring prospect is on his way out. Maloney stated before season that this was his chance to claim 1st team football so either he’s seen enough in training or his little or no 1st team time convinced him to offload. So now with 3 days left we basically have 1 striker so 2 in HAS to be the minimum requirement. Unless as CW stated he really does believe our non existent midfield will chip in with all the goals we need to stay out of the shit. Can’t see Aasgaard going as per press bullshit but F### me what a debacle our transfer window has been if he did………hang on tight !!!

The thing is Maloney is a very poor manager, Hibernian sussed that out within around 10 games and he was fired, he can’t motivate players, surely any footballer young or old can see this, once you piss off a group of players their heads go down and you won’t get a tune from them.

Very poor manager and coach that employs poor tactics.

                    Fuck the EFL

I hope he doesn’t talk the same way to the players as he does to the media, it’s like pulling hens teeth.

Every interview I see I’m still trying to suss out if he’s p!ssed off or he’s just a bad communicator.
He talks like he’s trying to lie and badly or he’s a bath running. His post match interview are awkward as hell to the point I’m saying out loud end it.

I see 20 year old Dale Taylor (forward) another loanee has signed. Good luck to the lad let’s hope he hits the floor running starting Saturday so all the best to him

My only thoughts about signing another young forward is,
He’ll only be as good as those behind him
No service, no goals. Personally I would have preferred to see us signing a steely older type midfielder to boss and galvinise these young lads together.

Another youngster on yet another loan….like all our players I hope he smashes it but can’t help thinking a Scott Hogan type experienced player is an absolute priority as is a midfield s### house. So will it be Taylor or Hugill cos it’s nailed odds on it won’t be both starting. Where does this leave Stones ?…..Pissed right off if as hinted he does get loaned out !!….I’m just a bit perplexed at our transfer activities……to say its a huge gamble is an understatement…….our league 1 status is seriously under threat.
