This has been happening since all seater stadia became the norm.If you get to your seat and someones already sat there how many tell the stewards?Standing on the steps is stupid and dangerous yet some do it if the stewards dont act on this Im pretty sure they will face retribution.Sitting in the wrong seat is not a problem in itself if the person doing it acts responsible.Pre Prem I never sat in the right seat in the South Stand I always sat on the top row in the very end seat in the corner. The reason I did this is coz I never leave my seat once im in it and theres nothing worse than folk constantly getting up to get a drink, pie bog etc.I hate being disturbed whilst the game is on so whenever possible I try to find the empty seats so I can enjoy the game.

at the dw i sit in the same area everygame although it is not my season tkt s seat but there are hundreds of emptyseats aruond me, no problem , away from home i first check out my allocated seat and then look for a better alternative for the 7 year old , ie position , view , toilet acess etc , i suppose me sitting in the very bottom left at the reebok caused great problems sat instead of centrally were i should of been , suppose i could of let a flare or two off there , as for needing a carer you offensive jumped up little prick i will be the one sat in the south in plenty of space with a 7 year old if you would like to come and explain why v the villa or i could call in the brick .

I never mentioned you needing a carer, I said parent or guardian, which is a completely different thing. You lined yourself right up for that comment by saying “my 7 year old mate”. If you had said my mates 7 year old lad that would have explained things better.
As for meeting you in the brick sunshine I would be glad to as long as you don’t bring your 7 year old mate with you, I have been two’d too many times in the past . B) :P

Must admit it got the old circulation pumping a bit on Satdey..felt a bit like the old days at times. hope it didn’t put any young uns off going again but that said I thought the police and stewards were guilty of a complete over-reaction to what started off as high jinks. I’d had a few pints but some of our younger element looked pissed. Thanks for the 3 points…we’ve had a good day.

Tell you what if you dont like standing up, stop going to away games. Because if you haven’t realized nearly every set of fans in the premier league stand up at away games and you wont get away from it. Football isn’t a pretty game and you dont get your own way all the time, just like us the ones who prefer to see the whole away section stood. And another thing, half the people who are complaining about this probably only turn up at bolton and the last away game of the season.

They at least turn up twice in a season, not like you who makes their one and only appearance 2/3rds through the season and posts a pile of crap in the bargain.

I think you’ve picked the wrong argument there. The people on this thread who are having a go at those who don’t sit in their correct seat were going to away game long before the Premier League days.

The issue isn’t people standing in front of your seat. The issue is totally disregarding your allocated seat and standing on the steps then complaining when stewards move you along.

Im not reading through this thread again but i think i remember people moaning about standing, also who cares where you sit it isnt like we sell out every away game there will be spare seats everywhere. We take 100’s not 1000’s the majority of the time.

I thought this thread and the arguments herein are related to the game at Bolton – when actually we did pretty well sell out.

I know it’s a difficult concept for much of this current generation, as it requires a basic standard of literacy and numeracy, but on the ticket are printed a row letter and a seat number. If you sit in that seat then the chances of a problem arising are significantly diminished.

Garswood, isnt the fact that you do get a row and number the very reason why folk dont sit where they should?.Wouldnt it be easier going back to the days when you went in the away end and plcked your spot.If your at the game with your young child and all around you are swearing and generally acting up do you stay there because your ticket tells you thats your seat?.If you go to a seat and a young fan is there coz his dad/uncle and cousin have the seats next to you do you tell the stewards to evict him?.To me it seems to cause problems at most games not to the extent of Saturday obviously but I would much rather pick my own spot. What we do about standing in the aisles christ knows.Just a thought
