          I cannot believe the bad sentiment this guy receives. I’m sure he was a ruthless business man, I know he was a successful one. I’m sure if like many in this town, I had worked for him, I would have plenty of bad words to say.
          Warriors fans hate him; choosing to ignore the fact that he saved the club, and invested his own money in keeping the club alive.

          SPOT THE PATTERN !!!!

          The bottom line is the guy has spent his own cash keeping two sporting clubs alive. He probably had a good time doing it (I hope so), but just imagine he hadn’t what a mess we’d be in right now without him.

            Like i said we have been in worst situations ie buckets, coffin carrying someone will take over might not have as much wealth as whelan but we will be a million times better off than we were in the early 90s believe me we existed before whelan took over ask breanda and people slagged her off

                i know an old chap who knows whelan very well and said he really wants to sell the club and he wont invest any of his or grandsons money in it any more, he will just take what he can from it when they sell players, maybe it is time for a new investor with money and ambition

                This old chap you know, is he the uncle of the tea lady’s grand daughters best friend’s cousins’ chiropodist – cos if it is then I know him too.

                He suffers from dementia.

                  Most Pointless thread EVER

                  Not pointless. Disgraceful.

                  I think it’s a disgrace that anyone should even suggest this.

                  I’ve just read Playing To Win while on holiday.

                  We wouldn’t even be in existence or if we were probably back in the NPL without his input and his money.

                  He built us a ground for goodness sake and his money paved the way for us to get into the PL and more importantly in my eyes win the FA Cup.

                  Read the book Grumpy and you will understand his financial strategy – if you can read and have more than half a functioning brain that is !!! :) :) ;) :P
