If you think our two centre midfielders pushed up way too far we r in trouble and yes I am talking about perkins he gives nothing only sideway and back passes his forward passes seem to reach the opposition 90% of the time and before you say he works hard I agree he runs about all day
Don’t get me wrong i’m not saying he is a good player, his work ethic is the only quality he has. But he seems to kop for a lot of grief when for me others are equally as bad, if not worse.
At one point in the first half we had five in a line up front & five in a line at the back with nothing in the middle. GC was tactically poor again today.He will get flack because of his position and I agree gc doesn’t help himself and the team with his selection and tactics
Despite all the talking up from the press and the boardroom this team is not as good as the comments suggest.Average performances against Shrewsbury, Swindon Doncaster, Oldham and of course that shambles today against the bottom club Barnsley. As soon as a team gets in their faces they run scared. As far as the penalties are concerned if any player missed the target they should be practising penalties until midnight. Absolutely disgraceful! League-wise the top 4 teams in the table we have managed to take ONE point. Just simply not good enough.
I thought that was Max Power’s worst game in a Wigan shirt. Dreadful.
They wanted it more than we did that simple. I’d have taken a loss today tjough if we win in 2 weeks. Wembley would be nice but promotion is the aim.

Yes, Davies was a bigger threat than Revell who seems to have gone a bit stale since his goal.

Amazing opinions of the same game aren’t they?
Thought his passing was let down numerous times by the poor movement from who he was passing to!
I’m proper disappointed in Reece James doesn’t look to get forward from a pass much recently, bar one occasion I recall in the first half which got us behind them. I just can’t understand why we’ve stopped the slick passing and the high tempo.
They say that’s what they do in training all week then we only see it on rare occasions and it works! Same as leaving a man up on their corners at 0-1 & 1-2 but not at 0-0, 1-1 or 2-2. Puddled honestly.If we set off in a positive manner for example with Wildschutt our main man with pace yesterday on from the start serving the strikers it may have been Barnsley chasing us. How about being in front and ressurising and then resting key players like Wildschutt with the match won. To be fair to Revell and Grigg the only two decent crosses we scored from. What idea will we manifest from the universe for Saturday?
More forward passing and movement needed all over the park.
The worst thing about yesterday was not the fact we were shit. We’ve been shit before and we’ve walked off happy but yesterday we were shit and worst of all we were boring and totally drab.
