Some folk are beyond clueless. Our midfield lacked composure all afternoon. Mccann, Macarthur and Maclean all blazed over or made the wrong decision when in the final third. Still. Lets find a way of attacking a lad who played for 8 minutes, worked his stones off and made some decent passes. Unbelievable.

You are obviously a Roger lover then, your comment above is correct but would you say that Roger was/is a game changer? Roger is not the type of player that can correct the issue you raise (IMO). He runs around a lot but shows no composure. That is not an attack on him but more an observation.
I can’t recall the decent passes you mention but can recall three not so good instances he was involved in. True…

Bob – spot on. The only midfielder (Gomez) who looked capable (as versus Brum’) of unlocking the Burnley defence. Notice how the likes of Ramis etc. continually sought him out today ….

Don’t understand UR substitutions : Gomez – our only creative midfielder off – Roger ‘headless’ Expinoza on ??? As for McClean (Fortune) .. well..(flatters to deceive)!

Half-time : For me, McCann ought to have been off, Callum Mc put up front, alongside Fortune (subbed for Holt – 65/70 mins.), with Nick Powell dropping back to central midfield (pushing forward); Second half very poor today – wouldn’t have scored in a month of Sundays – January transfer window – ‘mobile’ striker, plus decent midfielder.

Got to say that i was a little surprised to see Gomez taken off. I can only think that Uwe is giving all the players a chance to see what they can do. He can then see what & how many he needs in the January window?

I can only think that the climate change is a major factor in feeding habits.

Do you believe in moon phases?

I might tie some bottoms tomorrow.

        Single red and white.

I think I do sir, but not to get moon phase and electrical phase mixed up?

Worked his stones off? For 8 minutes? Even if he did – and I didn’t particularly notice him doing anything out of the ordinary – that’s the least I’d expect from a professional footballer.

I agree there shouldn’t be a witch hunt for the lad, but to make him out to be anything other than decidedly average is ridiculous.

I think the reason many people rave about Roger is simply because to them he is the anti-Gomez. He does what Jordi doesn’t – runs around a lot , puts a foot in etc.

Therefore for the Gomez haters Roger never puts a foot wrong whilst Jordi never puts a foot right – which as the majority realise is far from the truth.

From where I sit in the east stand I would say that this statement couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Please don’t believe that a few hundred gobby numpties are a fair representation of 12,000 or so fans.

This admiration for Espinoza seems to stem from his cup final appearance. This is the reason given by many when I ask why they think he deserves to be an automatic starter. It was also uttered by the numpty behind me in the west stand when Roger came on against Burnley and I consider his judgement to be on a par with next door’s cat, which I admit might be clouding my judgement slightly.

Yes, Espinoza did play very well at Wembley but so did the entire team which is why we won the cup. Unfortunately, up to date, that performance has yet to be repeated.
