What are flash scores? Will give it a try to ease the frustration tonight!

My prediction is that I will spend the evening seeing which updates quickest; bbc website or the latics website commentary as I miss the mid-weekers.

And me … and I predict I’ll be frustrated because they’re both slow, and I’ll spend most of the time wishing the ‘Latics Wall’ was back, with Nick, who was quicker than any BBC or agency reporter.
You need ‘Flash Scores’ in your life! ;)
I tried ‘flash scores’ for about 30 years and failed miserably. Didn’t score once!! Given up! (Well, no need to try any longer with Ali in attendance)!!

Good three points, not the best of spectacles, and I’m sure that ball was over the line…!!

Not a classic was it? But the points are on the board.

The kind of game we couldn’t buy a win last season!

That referee was a bit of a case. Fannying around over where that free kick was taken shrugging his shoulders but let them take another 20 yards literally with a throw in in front of us in the Springfield.

Not seen the “highlights” yet but sure it should have been 2-0 at the end…where’s the Russian linesman (or should I say person tonight) when you need them?

Points in the bag, job done. Tough game Saturday, but we travel in expectation more than hope.

          Up the Tics.

Good night and God bless

Goodnight leyland. Ive just got back home. Wasnt the greatest of games. But 3 points at the end of the day & a cracking goal to boot.

Looking forward to seeing the highlights to see whether or not the ball had crossed the line. Do they not have goal line technology at league 1 level?

A bit like some of the Rosler wins when he was in his winning period. Not pretty but three points. Missed the quality of Powell. Roberts huffed and puffed but didn’t over impress. Grigg worked hard but hardly even had scraps to feed off. Jacobs and Dan Burn both class. Keeper kept it at 1 nil. 3 hard earned points against a side that came to torment so they got what they deserved in the end. Should have been 3 nil though with the offside goal and the one that went over the line.

That liner gave two throw ins which didn’t look over the line and then the goal which did look over he gave the easy decision. It’s mad league one doesn’t have goalline technology

I think you’ve got the names mixed up there, except for the huffing and puffing bit.

Well Sam that just goes to show how different fans see a match differently.

Just watched the “goal” again on the Sky App thingy.

Took a few goes, but managed to stop the picture at the key moment. Ball 100% over the line from the camera angle.

I actually think this is a good omen for our season that we get the unlucky decision when it didnt affect the winning result. Last season that would have happened at 1-1 in a must win game or at 0-1 in a must not lose.

I have to admit that from my angle in the Springfield Stand I didn’t think it had crossed the line and the fact that it took so many attempts to get an angle on TV that showed it actually did means that it’s understandable why the officials didn’t give it. Having said that, it would have been difficult for them to get it right as they got almost everything wrong during the rest of the game.

I know that there is a ref that posts on here sometimes and I’d love to hear his opinions on the officials. It started right from kick off when he asked Jacobs 3 times to make sure his big toenail wasn’t over the half way line before he deemed it ok to start the game. I honestly believe that the performance of the officials last night was as bad as any I’ve seen.

I was Sat in the east stand between half way and the penalty box and what I saw was clear.
The ball was over the line and the linesman was stood on the corner flag signaling no.
It was a easy call for the linesman but unforgivably got it completely wrong.

I too thought it looked miles over the line and I was a lot further away than the Lino

FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

I’ve just watched the highlights & it was clearly over the line.

Obviously things can look different from different angles. Ultimately the ref/assistant between them didn’t give it and that’s all that counts sadly.

It was a stroke of luck for us, hopefully a sign of the season ahead, that the decision did not change the result.

Just to clarify, what I meant was it took me several attempts to stop the video clip on my phone at the exact point the ball was furthest over the line. The whole of the ball was clearly over on the angle from the 1 camera. We don’t have the luxury of multiple cameras anymore :(
