How come almost every new thread that concerns a player ie Heskey or Bullard ends up being a trip down memory lane with all manner of past players being mentioned ? This would have never happened in Brian Kettle or Tommy Gore’s day I can tell you !

Left back i think ,didn’t he score against Runcorn int FA cup at their place to force a replay could be mistaken though

If you mean the Runcorn match that Bob played in to be the first Spaniard to play in the FA Cup, that was years after Kettle played for us.
I can’t remember much about him myself, other than I think he was on LFC books before he came to us, and he had ginger hair, that’s about it.13 October 2009 at 3:59 pm #10560I can’t remember much about him myself, other than I think he was on LFC books before he came to us, and he had ginger hair, that’s about it.Nah, tha’s thinking about David Fairclough ;)

Fair point, well made
13 October 2009 at 11:38 pm #10586I was right about the Liverpool connection, and he was a left back. It doesn’t mention ginger hair though.
14 October 2009 at 12:55 am #10592He signed from L’Pool at the same time as a centre back called Arrowsmith I think. Was it early 80’s ? I knew his brother in law.
