Left back i think ,didn’t he score against Runcorn int FA cup at their place to force a replay could be mistaken though

If you mean the Runcorn match that Bob played in to be the first Spaniard to play in the FA Cup, that was years after Kettle played for us.

Fair point, well made
I was right about the Liverpool connection, and he was a left back. It doesn’t mention ginger hair though.
He signed from L’Pool at the same time as a centre back called Arrowsmith I think. Was it early 80’s ? I knew his brother in law.
I wish I could forget some of this useless rubbish and remember some stuff thta matters.
