Looks like an utter bag of wank, I can tell you now how useless he is going to be. Totally outpaced for a centre back. Martinez’s tactics and selections all wrong again, Does he do it on purpose. It is pathetic, We are playing them off the park but persists with one up top. Why doesn’t he just stick the end of last seasons tactics. I just don’t get him sometimes. If you dont play strikers you won’t score goals. Pisses me off because the performance was great.
Forgive me for asking, but I am just curious. How did you manage to post your Ramis rant at 3pm? Was you at the game? No seriously, I’m just wondering if you went.
Because if you did, you really should be feeling very positive about things. Thew first 7 mins apart, we matched the European Champions.
And you are slating a player making his Premiership debut after coming from abroad……have a think about it. He was totally shocked by the pace of the game at first, very cruelly. He had a harsh and fast lesson in the speed of our game. That’s all.
In no way could Roberto Martinez give Ramis a realistic taste of the pace of the Premiership, and if I recall, Alcaraz looked very sluggish when he first came to us.

He played well cleared a chance from Torres off the line and worked his socks off all afternoon.I agree that he maybe should have started with that new striker however the overall performance after that dreadful start was excellent and we deserved something from that game.
I have a very good feeling about this season if that is an indication today-we will batter Southampton next week if we play as good as that today.Forgive me for asking, but I am just curious. Why ask such a silly question. Quite clearly not. Look i said the performance was great and we needed more than relying on boyce, Gomez etc running into the box to support the front man. Need 2 strikers or we WILL NOT score goals. He has done it for 3 seasons. Moses was crap and un-interested, McCarthy and McArthur were poor and That Ramis is shocking. Oscar jogged past him in the second half for a 1 on 1. He wont be good enough, He will cost us a ton of goals with that kind of defending and lack of pace. The two mc’s can improve and Moses will probably go anyroad but Ramis cant learn pace. Against speedy forwards he is going to be prone to sending off’s and giving penny’s away. Kone looks a handful and am looking forward to seeing more of him and where was Miyachi to cover Beasoujour

Moses showed some very good touches, I thought. He skinned Cole more than once. McArthy and McArthur both played well. Oscar did NOT jog past Ramis for a one on one. He ran onto a through ball.
Ramis will prove to be a sound signing, as I bet most of the people who actually went today will agree with. Bar the first 7 mins as he learned how fast the Premiership is, he was solid and good on the ball.

Jesus! Where’s the relaxed Yosser of the summer gone?
It was exactly the same tactics as last season with the exception of Figueroa at left wingback and Ramis at centre half. I thought we missed Beausejour as he’s more inclined to get first time balls into the box than Figueroa.
I also think that Ramis put in some decent challenges and looked comfortable on the ball as he got into the game. Do you not remember how slow and out of sorts Caldwell looked when he first arrived?

what an idiotic comment tosser, sorry yosser. i agree with the comments of appley bridge & vince. apart from the first 5 – 10 mins, where he was turned by a quality forward – as has happened to so many defenders (even top quality ones) over the years, once he had adjusted to premier league life he grew into the game. personally, i think he will prove to be a good signing.

Quite ridiculous comments on RamiS to be honest. Japp Stam was shocking at first, Gerard Piqué had a hard time at united and is now a central part of an amazing Barcelona team, Leighton Baines got a lot of criticism early on as well “notbig enough, not good enough etc etc” and now he is joining Manchester united. All those players as an example took some time to settle and are now / where truly world class.
You write ramiS off after ten minutes, it would not surprise me if this lad went on to be club captain and become a major favourite at Wigan.

Agreed, Ramis can’t learn pace. Hopefully, he can rid himself of his shackles ! In any event, doesn’t appear naturally suited to LHS in back 3 – Figueroa for me. Beausejour in front (2 natural ‘lefties’). Better options going forward and more width in team from back to front.
That formation today, no matter what you fekin call it, got us a ponful of chances against the European champions, whilst restricting them to their lowest ever shot tally in an EPL game since 2007. :woohoo:
